“Making a deaf understand something without getting irritated is also a good charity.”

“One who applies perfume to a Muslim, the Almighty Allah will grant him a light for each strand of his hair.”

One who drinks the leftover from the glass of a believer, the Almighty Allah will appoint an angel who will repent for them till the Day of Judgment.”

“One who satisfies the hunger of four Muslims, Allah will grant him the reward of freeing a slave from the progeny of Ismail (a.s.).”

“One who meets a believer to please him, Allah will make the former happy on the Day of Judgment. One who meets a believer to make him sad, Allah will make the former sad on the Day of Judgment.”

Abu Al-Hassan the Last (asws) regarding the Statement of the High: “[57:11] Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward”, he (asws) said; ‘It is the ‘good’ towards the Imam (asws) during the government of the mischief’.

1. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “I will stand near Mizan on the Day of Judgment. If I see a person whose sins are more than his good deeds I will keep the salutations recited on me by him in the pan of good deeds and make it tilt in his favor.”

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “Allah says: One who supplicates to Me after knowing that only I am capable of benefiting as well as harming, I will accept his supplication.”

“It is not permitted to give charity to the Hashemites except in two conditions: they can be given water to drink when they are thirsty, and one of the Hashemites can give charity to another one.”

3. The narrator was present near Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) when there was a discussion about illness. Imam said, “Treat your illness with Sadaqah. Why don’t you offer a day’s food as Sadaqah? If the angel of death is ordered to take out the soul of a person and he pays Sadaqah, the angel of death is told to return.”

1. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who loves his brother in any way, Allah will order the servants from Paradise to serve him.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever gives one carat to one from my Ahl al-Bayt in this world will be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection with a kantar.

1. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) says, “One who fasts during the month of Ramadan, ends it with charity and goes to prayer-mat after taking ritual bath he would be forgiven before he gets up from the prayer-mat.”

“My nation should always do the following four:1- They should love those who repent.2- They should be sympathetic with the weak.3- They should help the good-doers.4- They should pray for all the people.”

Any good deed is a form of charity. Anyone who guides others to do good is like those who do good. God loves attending to the affairs of the needy.”

Who would pledge to abide by four characteristics for whom I shall guarantee four houses in Paradise: spending in charity without fearing to become poor; being fair to the people; greeting aloud; and not arguing although you are right.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that charity is that which is given before an appeal by the recipient. Giving charity after an appeal by the recipient is compensation for using the dignity of his face when he appealed and his passing the night worried and anxious in hope and despair without knowing which direction to go for his needs. He then decides to come before you with his heart beating fast and his muscles shaking. You can see (the color of) his blood on his face. He does not know whether he will turn back sadly or with happiness.’”

“I once wrote to abu Ja‘far, al-Thaniy (a.s.), and asked about a land that my grandfather had made an endowment for the needy children of so and so who are of a large number in different places. He (the Imam) (a.s.), said, ‘You have mentioned the land that your grandfather had made an endowment for the needy children of so and so. It is for those of them who are in the area (town) in which the endowment exists and you do not have to search for everyone who is absent.’”

1. Dawood Raqqi narrates that his wife Rabab said: I prepared a sweet dish of dates and took it to Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.). He ate it himself as well as offered it to his companions. She heard him say, “One who offers a morsel of sweet to a believer, Allah will keep the bitterness of the Day of Judgment away from him.”

“A worshipper prayed to Allah for eighty years. Then he fell in love with a woman and fulfilled his desires with her. When the angel of death approached him, he became mute. A beggar happened to pass by. That person pointed out the beggar to take the piece of bread lying in his pocket. The Almighty Allah had destroyed his worship of eighty years due to the adultery committed by him but He forgave him for offering that piece of bread.”
