“Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, loves offering the greeting of peace openly, loud and clearly.”

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a man who gives preference to certain ones of his children. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so, and his women.’”

“I saw Nasim in Sarmanra that he broke the door of the house of Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) and a person came out of the house and seeing him with the axe, asked: What are you doing in my house? Nasim said: “Ja’far thinks that your father has passed away without leaving any issue. I am sorry if this is your house; I will leave immediately.” And he came out. Ali bin Qays said: A servant of the house came to me and I asked him about it. He said: Who told you about it? I said: An official of Iraq. He said: Nothing remains a secret from the people.

1 – Abān b. Abī ʿAyyāsh, Abī ʿAyyāsh’s name is Fayrūz. A tābiʿī, he narrated from Anas b. Mālik. And he narrated from ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn عليهما السلام . Weak, he is not to be turned to. Our companions ascribe to him the fabrication of the book of Sulaym b. Qays.

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the testimony of a blind man if it is admissible. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is admissible if he has preserved it.’”

I asked Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who gives preference to some of his children over others. Imam (as) replied: "Yes, and he may also favor some of his wives (over other wives)."

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The sale of one grown up camel in exchange for ten fetuses of camel to be born is not valid.’”

Amīr al-mu’minīn was delivering a lecture from the pulpit of (the mosque of) Kūfah when al-Ash‘ath ibn Qays [1] objected and said, “O Amīr al-mu’minīn this thing is not in your favour but against you.” [2] Amīr al-mu’minīn looked at him with anger and said :

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The egg yoke is light and its white is heavy.’”

I asked Imam (as) about a man who bequeathed a portion of his wealth - a third or a fourth - to another man. Then, the man (the testator) was mistakenly killed. Imam (as) said: "The will is to be executed from his wealth and from his blood money (diyyah)."

he said regarding a man who killed his mother: "If he killed her accidentally, he is entitled to a share of her inheritance. However, if he killed her intentionally, he does not inherit anything from her."

“I once heard abu Ja‘far, Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘Jews and Christians cannot inherit from the Muslims but a Muslim can inherit from Jews and Christians.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Waiting period of a pregnant divorcee expires at childbirth and he must pay for her maintenance in fairness until childbirth.’”

Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, used to say: "I do not act upon the statement of a fortune-teller, nor a tracker, nor a thief, and I do not accept the testimony of a transgressor except against himself."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘One who consumes Riba’, one who feeds Riba ’ and one who documents it, are all the same (in committing this sins).”’

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the testimony of a blind man. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is admissible if he has preserved it.’”

"The Commander of the Faithful (as) ruled regarding a man who passed away and had bequeathed all of his wealth or most of it. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: 'The will is to be adjusted to what is customary, and the rightful inheritance must be left for the heirs.'"

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘A woman who is divorced and her husband has the right to go back to her, can beautify herself before her husband and he does not need to ask permission to go to her.’”

“Abu Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘A woman inherits from the wergild of her husband and her husband inherits from the wergild of his wife as long as one of them does not kill the other partner.’”

‘‘Allah has a paradise wherein no one is admitted except three kinds of people of whom one is he who judges himself with the truth.”
