Hadith.387 - Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) said: "In what Musa ibn Imran (as) privately spoke to his Lord (azj), the Mighty and Glorious, Musa (as) said: 'O’ Lord (azj), what is the reward for visiting the sick?' Allah (swt) replied: 'I will appoint an angel to visit them in their grave until the Day of Resurrection.' Musa (as) asked: 'O’ Lord (azj), what about the one who washes the deceased?' Allah (swt) replied: 'I will cleanse them of their sins as on the day their mother gave birth to them.'"

“Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, spoke to Moses about certain matters. Of such matters, one was this: ‘O Musa (Moses), treat one asking for help graciously, with a little charity or send him away with kind words; one who is not of man or Jinn may come to you who, in fact, is an angel of the angels of the Beneficent. He may come to examine and test you about the favors that I have granted you. They ask you of the favors I have granted to you. Consider, O son of ’Imran, how you behave.’”

“When two men dispute each other, two angels come down and say to the foolish one of the two, ‘You said what you said and you were the kind to say what you said and you will be brought to account for what you have said.’ Then they will say to the forbearing one of the two men, ‘You exercised patience and forbearance. Allah will forgive you if you will complete it.’ The Imam said, ‘If the forbearing man answers back to the other man the two angels will ascend.’”

Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) said: Whoever fasts on a hot day and is afflicted with thirst, Allah commissions one thousand angels to wipe down his face and give him glad tidings. Once he breaks his fast, Allah says: “How sweet is your fragrance and your spirit! O My angels! Bear witness that I have forgiven him.”

I heard al-Sadiq Abu `Abdillah (as) say: When al-Husayn b. `Ali (as) was born, Allah ordered Jibra’il that he descend with a thousand angels and offer congratulations to the Messenger of Allah (s) from Allah and from Jibra’il. He said: So Jibra’il descended and he passed by an island in the sea wherein was an angel, named Futrus, who was from the bearers (of the Throne). Allah had dispatched him for something and he had delayed it. So, He broke his wings and banished him to that island. He worshipped Allah therein for seven hundred years until al-Husayn b. `Ali (as) was born. The angel said to Jibra’il: O Jibra’il! Where do you intend (i.e. to go)? He said: Allah has bestowed a bounty on Muhammad. So, I have been sent to offer him congratulations from Allah and myself. He said: O Jibra’il! Carry me with you; perhaps Muhammad (s) will pray for me. He said: So, he carried him. He said: When Jibra’il entered the Prophet’s presence, he conveyed to him the congratulations from Allah and himself and informed him about the state of Futrus. The Prophet (s) said: Say to him: Rub (yourself) against this newborn and revert to your abode. He said: So Futrus rubbed (himself) against al-Husayn b. `Ali (as) and he ascended. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Your Nation will certainly kill him soon, and upon me is the remuneration for him. A visitor shall not visit him but that I will notify him and a Muslim shall not send his salutation upon him but that I will convey to him his salaam. A praying one shall not say a prayer (benediction of Allah) upon him but that I will convey to him his prayer. Then he ascended.

I was holding the hand of the Messenger of Allah (s) and we were walking together. We did not stop looking to the Sun until it set. So, I said: O Messenger of Allah! Where does it go? He said: In the sky. Then, it rises from heaven to heaven until it reaches the highest, seventh heaven; till it is beneath the Throne. It then falls in prostration, and the angels of the kingdom of heaven prostrate with it. Then, it says: “O Lord! Where do You order me to rise from: from my setting place, or from my rising place?” That is His saying, “The Sun travels for a fixed term. That is the design of the Almighty, the Knowing” (36:38) – meaning, that is the contrivance of the Mighty Lord in His kingdom with His creation. He said: So, Gabriel (as) comes to it with a garment which glows with the light of the Throne, which is in accordance with the hours of the day – it lengthens in the summer, it shortens in the winter, and it is in between that in the fall and the spring. He said: Then, it wears that garment just as one of you wears his clothes. Then, it goes with it in the sky until it rises from its rising point. The Prophet (s) said: It is as though I am with it as it is confined for three nights, and it is not cloaked in [its] glow, and it is ordered to rise from its setting place. That is His saying, “When the Sun is turned, and when the stars darken” (81:1-2). The Moon is like that from its rise, to its journey to the horizon of the sky, to its setting, to its ascension to the seventh heaven. It prostrates beneath the Throne, and Gabriel (as) comes to it with a garment of the light of the Seat. That is His saying, “He is the one that made the Sun a shining glow and the Moon a light.” (10:5) Abu Dharr (rh) said: Then, I withdrew with the Messenger of Allah (s) and we prayed Maghrib.

I said to Ja’far bin Muhammed bin Ali bin Hussain bin Ali bin Abi Talib, peace be upon them: O son of Allah’s Messenger, what is the meaning of the saying of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He: «Alif Laam Meem» [1] (2:1), «Alif Laam Ssaad’» (7:1), «Alif Laam Raa’» (10:1), «Alif Laam Meem Raa’» (13:1), «Kaaf Haa’ Yaa’ ‘Ayn Ssaad» (19:1), «Taa’ Haa’» (20:1), «Taa’ Seen» (27:1), «Taa’ Seen Meem» (26:1), «Yaa’ Seen» (6:1), «Ssaad» (38:1), «Hhaa’ Meem» (40:1), «Hhaa’ Meem ‘Ayn Seen Qaaf» (42:1), «Qaaf» (50:1) and «Nun» (68:1)? He, peace be upon him, said: As for «Alif Laam Meem» at the beginning of al-Baqarah, it means: I am Allah, the King. As for «Alif Laam Meem» at the beginning of Aal Imran, it means: I am Allah, the Commendable. «Alif Laam Meem Ssaad» means: I am Allah, the Potent, the Truthful. «Alif Laam Raa’» means: I am Allah, the Compassionate. «Alif Laam Meem Raa’» means: I am Allah, the Giver of life, the Causer of death, the Sustainer. «Kaaf Haa’ Yaa’ ‘Ayn Ssaad» means: I am the Sufficient, the Guide, the Protector, the Knowledgeable, the Truthful in promise. As for «Taa’ Haa’», it is a name from the names of the Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, and it means: O he who seeks the truth, he who guides to it. «The Qur’an was not sent down unto you for you to be distressed» (20:1), but rather: for you to be glad with it [2]. As for «Taa’ Seen» it means: I am the Seeker, the All-Hearing. As for «Taa’ Seen Meem» it means: I am the Seeker, the All-Hearing, the Initiator, the Returner. As for «Yaa’ Seen» it is a name from the names of the Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, and it means: O he who hears the Revelation. «And by the Wise Qur’an. Indeed, you are certainly from the Messengers, upon the Straight Path.» (36:3-4) As for «Ssaad» it is a water source that springs from beneath the Throne, and it is from which the Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, made Wudu when it was journeyed with him. Jibra’eel [3], peace be upon him, enters into it every day and immerses into and then exits from, and then he shakes his wings. At then, there is no drop that drops from his wings, except that Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, has created from it an Angel who glorifies Allah and sanctifies, declares Him Greater and praises Him till the Day of Resurrection. As for «Hhaa’ Meem» it means: The Praiseworthy, the Commendable. As for «Hhaa’ Meem ‘Ayn Seen Qaaf» it means: The All-Forbearing, the Rewarding, the Knowledgeable, the All-Hearing, the Powerful, the Strong. As for «Qaaf» it is the mountain that surrounds the earth and of which is the greenness of the sky, and by which Allah holds the earth from swaying with its inhabitants. As for «Nun» it is a river [46] in Paradise about which Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, said: «Freeze» and it froze and became ink. Then Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, said to the pen: «Write» and the Pen wrote on the Preserved Tablet what was and what will be till the Day of Resurrection. The Ink is of light, the Pen is a pen is of light and the Tablet is a tablet of light. And Sufyan said: So I said to him: O son of Allah’s Messenger, clarify to me the matter of the Tablet, the Pen and the Ink in bountiful clarification and teach me from what Allah has taught you. So he said: O son of Sa’d, were it not that you are deserving the answer, I would not have answered you. The «Nun» is an Angel who delivers to the Pen, who is an Angel, and the Pen delivers to the Tablet, who is an Angel, and the Tablet delivers to Israfeel [4], and Israfeel delivers to Mika’eel [5], and Mika’eel delivers to Jibra’eel, and Jibra’eel delivers to the Prophets and Messengers, upon whom are the blessings of Allah. He said: Then he said to me: Stand up, O Sufyan, for I can not be assured of you.
