hadith 361
Hadith.1932 - Amru ibn Shimr narrated from Jabir, from Abu Ja'far (as), who said that the
Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "When the disk of the sun disappears, the fasting person may break their fast, and the time for prayer begins."
1932 - رَوَى عَمْرُو بْنُ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ : «إِذَا غَابَ اَلْقُرْصُ أَفْطَرَ اَلصَّائِمُ وَ دَخَلَ وَقْتُ اَلصَّلاَةِ.

2. Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn abu Nasr has narrated from ‘Abd al-Karim ibn ‘Amr from Zurarah who has said the following
“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘One who cannot find an offering and likes to fast the three days during the first ten days, it is not an offense for him to do so.”
2ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما السَّلاَم)
أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ هَدْياً وَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يُقَدِّمَ الثَّلاثَةَ الأَيَّامِ فِي أَوَّلِ الْعَشْرِ فَلا بَأْسَ.

hadith 370
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Ali b. al-Hussain al-Sa’dabadi from Ahmad b. al-Nadhr from ’Amru b. Shimr from Jabir from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) that
he said: “There is a best season for everything and the best season of reciting the Holy Quran is the month of Ramadan.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ الْحُسَیْنِ السَّعْدَآبَادِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع
أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لِکُلِّ شَیْ ءٍ رَبِیعٌ وَ رَبِیعُ الْقُرْآنِ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ.

hadith 266
14. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Mansur ibn al-‘Abbas from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from al-Hassan ibn Sadaqah who has said the following
“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Rest in the form of a short nap between sunrise and noontime; Allah gives food and water to a fasting person during his sleep.”’
14ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قِيلُوا فَإِنَّ الله يُطْعِمُ الصَّائِمَ وَيَسْقِيهِ فِي مَنَامِهِ.

5. And from the previous chain from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from al-Hussain b. Alwan from ’Amru b. Shimr from ’Amru b. Khalid from Zayd b. Ali from his forefathers from Ali (a.s.) who said
‘Call upon Me, I will answer you’. You have been given the assurance of acceptance of supplications. Seven angels are appointed for arresting each Satan so that none can overpower you till the end of this month. Know that, the doors of heaven are opened from the first night of Ramadan and that the supplications in this month are always accepted.”
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عُلْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ زَیْدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ عَلِیٍّ ع قَالَ
لَمَّا حَضَرَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَ أَثْنَی عَلَیْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَیُّهَا النَّاسُ کَفَاکُمُ اللَّهُ عَدُوَّکُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ قَالَ ادْعُونِی أَسْتَجِبْ لَکُمْ وَ وَعَدَکُمُ الْإِجَابَهَ أَلَا وَ قَدْ وَکَّلَ اللَّهُ بِکُلِّ شَیْطَانٍ مَرِیدٍ سَبْعَهً مِنْ مَلَائِکَتِهِ فَلَیْسَ بمخلوق [بِمَحْلُولٍ] حَتَّی یَنْقَضِیَ شَهْرُکُمْ هَذَا أَلَا وَ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ مُفَتَّحَهٌ مِنْ أَوَّلِ لَیْلَهٍ مِنْهُ أَلَا وَ الدُّعَاءُ فِیهِ مَقْبُولٌ.

hadith 356
Hadith.1925 - Abd al-Karim ibn Amr asked Imam (as): "I have made a vow upon myself to fast until the Qa'im (as) rises." Imam (as) said: "Do not fast during travel, on the two Eids, on the days of Tashriq, or on the day of doubt."
1925 - وَ سَأَلَهُ عَبْدُ اَلْكَرِيمِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَ: إِنِّي جَعَلْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي أَنْ أَصُومَ حَتَّى يَقُومَ اَلْقَائِمُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فَقَالَ «لاَ تَصُمْ فِي اَلسَّفَرِ وَ لاَ فِي اَلْعِيدَيْنِ وَ لاَ فِي أَيَّامِ اَلتَّشْرِيقِ وَ لاَ اَلْيَوْمِ اَلَّذِي يُشَكُّ فِيهِ ».

hadith 373
Hadith.1944 - Sulayman ibn Amr narrated from Abu Abdullah (as), who said
"Umm Salama (may Allah (swt) be pleased with her) complained of an issue with her eye during the Month of Ramadan. The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) instructed her to break her fast and said: 'The nourishment of the night is restorative for your eyes.'"
1944 - وَ رَوَى سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
«اِشْتَكَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا عَيْنَهَا فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ أَنْ تُفْطِرَ وَ قَالَ «عَشَاءُ اَللَّيْلِ لِعَيْنَيْكِ رَدِيٌّ».

19. Abi (rah) from Sa’d b. Abdillah from Muhammad b. Isa al-Yaqteeni from ’Amru b. Ibrahim from Khalaf b. Hamad from the one who mentioned it from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said
“The Almighty Allah keeps seventy calamities away from one who gives Sadaqah in the month of Ramadan.”
أَبِی ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی الْیَقْطِینِیِّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ عَمَّنْ ذَکَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ
مَنْ تَصَدَّقَ فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ بِصَدَقَهٍ صَرَفَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَبْعِینَ نَوْعاً مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ.

5. Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s.) says, “Take a nap in forenoon; for Allah provides food and water to the fasting person in his sleep.”

hadith 431
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar ibn Musa who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who extracts his tooth when fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, and one must not make his teeth bleed or brush with a fresh twig.’”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) فِي الصَّائِمِ يَنْزِعُ ضِرْسَهُ قَالَ
لا وَلا يُدْمِي فَاهُ وَلا يَسْتَاكُ بِعُودٍ رَطْبٍ.

7. Ahmad ibn Muhammad from has narrated from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from Sulayman ibn ‘Amr who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Once in the month of Ramadan ‘Umm Salamah complained of illness of her eyes. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, commanded her to eat, saying, ‘Not to eat until supper can cause the demise of your eyes.’”
7ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
اشْتَكَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ رَحْمَةُ الله عَلَيْهَا عَيْنَهَا فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) أَنْ تُفْطِرَ وَقَالَ عَشَاءُ اللَّيْلِ لِعَيْنِكِ رَدِيٌّ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Yahya ibn ‘Amr ibn Khalifah al-Zayyat from ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr from certain individuals of our people who has said the following
“One of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has stated this Hadith. ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “O young people, you may have carnal relations. If you are unable to do so, you should fast; it has a castrating effect (on carnal desires).””’
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ الزَّيَّاتِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما السَّلاَم) قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَا مَعْشَرَ الشَّبَابِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَاهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِيعُوهُ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالصِّيَامِ فَإِنَّهُ وِجَاؤُهُ.

hadith 255
Hadith.1826 - Amr ibn Khalid narrates from Abu Ja‘far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), who said: "The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would fast Sha‘ban and the Month of Ramadan together without separating them, but he would forbid people from joining them together. He used to say
‘They are the months of Allah (swt), and they are an expiation for the sins committed before and after them.’”
1826 - وَ رَوَى عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ وَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ يَصِلُهُمَا وَ يَنْهَى اَلنَّاسَ أَنْ يَصِلُوهُمَا وَ كَانَ يَقُولُ «هُمَا شَهْرُ اَللَّهِ وَ هُمَا كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا قَبْلَهُمَا وَ مَا بَعْدَهُمَا مِنَ اَلذُّنُوبِ» ».

6. Ahmad ibn Idris and others have narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar who has said the following
“About a man who becomes thirsty and is afraid for his life, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘He can drink to spare his life but not to fill himself up.’”
6ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) فِي الرَّجُلِ يُصِيبُهُ الْعُطَاشُ حَتَّى يَخَافَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ قَالَ
يَشْرَبُ بِقَدْرِ مَا يُمْسِكُ بِهِ رَمَقَهُ وَلا يَشْرَبُ حَتَّى يَرْوَى.

hadith 164
1. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) says, “Surely, the excellence of the Fridays of the month of Ramadan over ordinary Fridays is like the excellence of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) over other prophets. Similar is the excellence of the month of Ramadan over all months.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ
کَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع یَقُولُ إِنَّ لِجَمِیعِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ لَفَضْلًا عَلَی جَمِیعِ سَائِرِ الشُّهُورِ کَفَضْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص عَلَی سَائِرِ الرُّسُلِ.

9. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Bakr and Muhammad ibn abu Suhban from Hafs ibn al-Bakhtariy from ‘Umar (‘Amr) ibn Salim and Muhammad ibn Ziyad ibn ‘Isa from Harun ibn Kharijah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Count of the month of al-Sha‘ban twenty nine days; if it is cloudy then fast, but if it is clear and you looked but did not see anything, you can remain without fasting.’”
9ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَكْرٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي صُهْبَانَ عَنْ حَفْصٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَالِمٍ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عُدَّ شَعْبَانَ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ يَوْماً فَإِنْ كَانَتْ مُتَغَيِّمَةً فَأَصْبِحْ صَائِماً فَإِنْ كَانَتْ صَاحِيَةً وَتَبَصَّرْتَهُ وَلَمْ تَرَ شَيْئاً فَأَصْبِحْ مُفْطِراً.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar ibn Musa who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man with whose burping something comes up to his throat and then it goes back when he is fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is not obligated for anything .’”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةً عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ جَوْفِهِ الْقَلْسُ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْحَلْقَ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى جَوْفِهِ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ قَالَ لَيْسَ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ.

4. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Husayn ibn ‘Ulwan from ‘Amr ibn Khalid who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, would fast during the month of Sha‘ban and the month of Ramadan and continue fasting. He (the Messenger of Allah) prohibited people to continue fasting without a break (after sunset). He also said, ‘These two are the months of Allah and this (fasting in the two months) is expiation of the sins before and after these two months.’”
4ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُلْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ وَرَمَضَانَ يَصِلُهُمَا وَيَنْهَى النَّاسَ أَنْ يَصِلُوهُمَا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ هُمَا شَهْرَا الله وَهُمَا كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا قَبْلَهُمَا وَلِمَا بَعْدَهُمَا مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ.

For everything there is a spring, and the spring of the Qur’an is the month of Ramadhan.
حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل - رحمه الله - قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين السعد آبادي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن محمد بن سالم، عن أحمد بن النضر الخزاز ، عن عمرو بن شمر، عن جابر، عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال
لكل شئ ربيع وربيع القرآن شهر رمضان.

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِی الْجَوْزَاءِ الْمُنَبِّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عُلْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِی هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی جُبَیْرٍ عَنْ أَبِی هُرَیْرَهَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ صَامَ یَوْماً فِی سَبِیلِ اللَّهِ کَانَ کَعِدْلِ سَنَهٍ یَصُومُهَا.
