Abdul Aziz ibn al-Muhtadi said that when he asked Imam Reza (a.s) about Unity he replied: “Whoever recites: “Say: He is God, the One, and Only” [The Holy Quran: Ikhlas 112:2]and believes in it has recognized the concept of the Unity of God.” He then asked the Imam (a.s): “How should one recite this verse.” The Imam (a.s) said: “Recite it as other people do”, and added: “plus saying “This is Allah, my Lord” three times.”

about the words of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High. “In fact, the Quran consists of illustrious verses that exist in the hearts of those who have knowledge. . .” (29:49) ‘They are the Imams (a.s.)’.

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘If one of you becomes ill he should allow people to visit him; everyone’s prayer has a chance to receive acceptance.’”

“If two groups attend the same meeting, the group entering last should offer greetings of peace to those who have entered first.”

“The debaters of this sect are the most evil of all the categories.”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘When a visitor visits someone and eats with him, formality comes down, and when he eats with him (the visitor) feels constraint a little.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘The best of your dates are al-Barniy, feed them to your women during their childbirth; your children will grow up intelligent and forbearing.’”

Abu Abdullah (asws) has said: ‘Rasulallah (saww) used to divide his moments between his companions. He would look at this one, and look at that one equally.'

“Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘Which quality is more graceful for a man?’ The Imam said, ‘Of such qualities are: reverence that is not a cause for any fear, magnanimity without expecting any recompense, and business, but not in worldly matters.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When cheese and walnut come together in each of them there is a cure but separately each one has an illness with it.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You should hasten (take the initiative) to teach Hadith to your children before al-Murji’ah (name of a sect) takes control over their mind and belief.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a man has one thousand dirham and he does not have anything else with him but he buys sugar with it, he is not considered a spendthrift.””

“Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (MGB) told me, ‘O Abdul Aziz! There are ten ranks of belief just like the steps of a ladder which one must climb up one after the other. One who has attained two of these ranks should not say to the one who has only attained the first rank, ‘You do not have faith.’ The same thing holds true up until the tenthrank. You should not consider anyone who has attained a rank lower than yourself to lack faith, so that those who have attained a higher rank than you have, do not consider you to lack faith. When you see someone who is in a lower rank than you are, kindly assist him up to your rank. Do not force upon him what he cannot tolerate, since you may hurt him this way. One who hurts a believer should help him get unhurt. Miqdad was in the eighth rank. Abuzar was in the ninth rank and Salman had attained the tenth rank of faith.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If cheese is harmful in all things and does not benefit in anything, sugar on the other hand benefits in all things and does not harm in anything.’”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever’s heart is lodged with the world is ensnared with three things: a concern that never vanishes, a wish that never comes true and a hope that never materializes.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Of the matters that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, taught to Ali (a.s.), was his saying, “Whoever believes in Allah and in the Day of Judgment, he must honor his guest.’””

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that no one should enter a grave with shoes, slippers, turbans, gowns or hats.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not form contracts with people who suffer from crippling diseases; they are most unjust things’ (do not avoid transmitting their disease to others).”

“I heard abu al-Jarud narrate from abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘Four kinds of fruit came from paradise: There were grapes of al-Raziqiy, fresh dates of al-Mushan, pomegranates of al-Tmlisiy and apples of al-Shaysaqan.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once mentioned onion and said, ‘It is well flavored and it dissolves phlegm and increases one’s ability to go to bed with his wife.’”
