“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Circumcision for man is of Sunnah and it is a noble trait for women.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not hire a Zoroastrian woman for breastfeeding your child, however, you may hire a Jewish, a Christian woman who must not drink wine and you must not allow them to do so.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one performs Salah (prayer) in his house then comes to one of their Masjid and performs Salah (prayer) with them, he leaves with all of their good deeds.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Salah (prayer) is not performed in a house where wine and intoxicating items exist.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Can one perform Salah (prayer) on abu Qubays (name of the hill) facing the direction of al-Qiblah (al-Ka‘bah)? He (the Imam) said, ‘There is no offense in it.”’

“One of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘Do not perform obligatory Salah (prayer) in al- Ka‘bah.’” In another Hadith it is narrated that Salah (prayer) is performed toward four directions if one has no choice but to do so.”

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Five kinds of people are not to lead other people in Salah (prayer) in all circumstances: People suffering from leprosy, insanity, one born out of wedlock and al-A‘ra’biy Arab of the desert.’”

“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who doubts and does not know if he has performed one or two Sajdah (prostrations). He (the Imam) said, ‘He performs Sajdah (prostration) to ascertain that it is two Sajdah (prostrations).”’

“I once saw abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), entering Masjid al-Haram during al-‘Asr Salah (prayer), when he was near the rows, they performed Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees). He (the Imam) performed Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees) alone and two Sajdah (prostration). He (the Imam) then stood up and walked until he joined the rows.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who comes to Salah (prayer) and does not find a place in the rows. Can he stand up alone until Salah (prayer) is complete? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is not an offense to stand parallel to the Imam.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Those who were before us would say, ‘Setting free of a slave or divorce does not have any valid effect until a man has an ownership and marriage.’”

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about laughing if it destroys Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘Smiling does not destroy Salah (prayer) but laughing loudly destroys it.’” It (the above Hadith) also is narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah.”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan al-Awwal (a.s.), ‘Did the Messenger of Allah say Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) in the first two Rak‘at while his status was as it was? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes; Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, willed to give them (people) proper understanding?”

“I once said to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, it is time for al-Dhuhr and we are not able to come down for Salah (prayer) in time until they come down. We come down with them and perform Salah (prayer). They quickly leave and we stand up to perform al-‘Asr and show them as if we perform Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees). They then come down for al-‘Asr and lead us. Can we perform Salah (prayer) with them? He (the Imam) said, ‘Perform Salah (prayer) with them. May Allah never grant them any Salah (prayer).”’

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about a man who performs Salah (prayer) with a people and he thinks it is the first (al-Dhuhr) but it is al-‘Asr. He (the Imam) said, ‘He considers it the first and perform al-‘Asr.’” In another Hadith it is said, ‘If he knows that it is al-‘Asr and has not performed the one before, he is not to join them.”’

Abu Abdillah عليه السلام was asked about the one in the state of Janaba who is bathing so [some of the used water] sprays off the ground and into the utensil, he said: there is no harm – this is covered by what Allāh the Exalted said: “He has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty” (22:78).

“Abu ‘Abdullah (a.s.), has said, ‘If you do not know whether you have performed three or four Rak’ah and your thought settles on three, then consider it three. If your thought settles on four, say Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) and end Salah (prayer). If your guess is equal; end Salah (prayer), then perform two Rak’ah in a sitting position.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If you stand up in the first two Rak‘at without saying Tashahhud (testimonies of belief), then remember before Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees), you must sit down. You must say Tashahhud (testimonies of belief). In case, if you do not remember until Ruku‘, then continue your Salah (prayer) as you are. When you end, perform two Sajdah (prostration) without Ruku‘, then say Tashahhud (testimonies of belief) which you had missed.’”

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about a man who performs Salah (prayer) but does not know if he is in the third or fourth Rak‘at. He (the Imam) said, ‘It depends on what his guessing indicates. If he according to his guess thinks it is the third or fourth he accepts it along with his soul, then performs two Rak‘at in which he reads al-Fatihah al-Kitab only.”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who finds the Imam in sitting position saying Tashahhud (testimonies of belief) and there is no one behind him except one man on his right side. He (the Imam) said, ‘He does not go ahead of the Imam or behind the man, but sits down behind the Imam; and when the Imam says Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace), the man stands up and completes his Salah (prayer).”
