Hadith.964 - Hisham ibn Salim said to Abu Abdullah (as): "I go out and I love to be in a state of spiritual continuation (mu'aqqib)." Imam (as) replied: "If you are in a state of ablution (wudhu), then you are considered to be in a state of spiritual continuation (mu'aqqib)."

“Once, when I also was present, a human being asked abu ‘Abdullah (a.s.), ‘ I may enter a Masjid when certain persons of our people perform al- ‘Asr and others perform al-Dhuhr Salah (prayer).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘ I have commanded them to do so; were they to perform at one time they would have been recognized and caught by their necks.’”

“A person who drinks wine will meet Allah along with an idol-worshipper. Allah will not accept the Salaat for forty days of a person who drinks wine once.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when a man stands up for Salah (prayer) but considers it insignificant, Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, says to His angels, ‘Look at this servant of Mine. It seems as if he thinks someone other than Me is a person in charge of fulfilling his needs. Does he not know that I am the One who fulfills all of his needs by My own hand?”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who is in unpopulated land on a cloudy day and performs Salah (prayer) facing a wrong direction. Clouds then clear and he finds out about his Salah (prayer) having been performed facing a wrong direction. What he must do? He (the Imam) said, ‘If there is still time, he must do his Salah (prayer) again but if the time is passed, then whatever investigation he has done is sufficient.’”

“Abu Basir once on the way to Makkah performed Salah (prayer) with us as the leader and while in Sajdah (prostration) said, ‘O Lord, - a camel of their camel man was lost-, return to so and so his camel.’ Muhammad has said that I then went to visit abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and informed him (about what abu Basir had said in Sajdah (prostration)). He (the Imam) asked, ‘Did he do so? I replied, ‘Yes, he did.’ He (the Imam) remained quiet. I then asked, ‘Must I perform Salah (prayer) again?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘No, (it is not necessary).”’ (Hadith 8 is best explained in the form of fatwa.)

2. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) says, “One who stays awake during the night of Eid and of 15th Shaban his heart would remain alive on the day the hearts are destined to die.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), to teach me about the most excellent time for the morning Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) (a.s.), said, ‘About the coming of dawn, Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, “You must perform Salah (prayer)) and the recitation at dawn. The recitation at dawn certainly was witnessed.” (17:78) It is a reference to the morning Salah (prayer) which is witnessed (attended) by the angels of the night and the angels of the day. When a servant of Allah performs Salah (prayer) at dawn, it is written in his favor twice: once by the angels of the night and once by the angels of the day.’”

Our Shia are the people of piety and diligence, loyalty and honesty, and asceticism and worship. They perform fifty-one rak’as in a single day and night. They pass their nights with worship and their days with fasting. They defray the zakat from their wealth, perform the hajj, and refrain from committing any forbidden thing.
