“Dawud ibn Zurbiy complained against his son before abu al-Hassan (a.s.), because of what he had destroyed. He (the Imam) said, ‘Reform and reclaim him; a value of a hundred thousand is not important compared to the bounty that Allah has bestowed up on you.’”

I heard Abu Abdullah (as) say: "If a boy is on his deathbed and makes a will before reaching maturity, his will is valid if it is for his close relatives, but it is not valid for strangers."

"The Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, had four of the great angels witness his will to Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), peace be upon him: Jibril, Mika'il, Israfil, and another whose name I do not remember."

“A man died and appointed me and another man or two men as executors for his will. One of them said, ‘I will deal with one-half of the legacy but the other one opposed, and they asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is for him (to disagree).”’

I said to Imam (as): "One of your followers passed away, leaving behind young children and some wealth, but he also had a debt that his creditors are unaware of. If the debt is paid, nothing will remain for his children." Imam (as) said: "Spend it on his children."

"That rightfully belongs to him."

“Once we were in the presence of abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.). I counted that the people present were fourteen. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) sneezed and no one from the people said anything. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) then asked, ‘You did not respond. Why did you not respond? It is of the rights of a believing person on the other believing person to visit him in his illness, attend his funeral, and respond to his sneezing, or he said, yusammithu (response to his sneezing) and when he invites accept his invitation.’”

“Once abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about the case of a man who on a journey was with a slave-girl and two slaves. He said to them, ‘You are free for the sake of Allah and bear witness that the child in the womb of the slave-girl is from me. She gave birth to a son. When they came back, the heir refused the will and kept them as slaves. The two slaves were later set free and they testified that their previous master had asked them to bear witness that the child in the womb of the slave-girl was his child. He (the Imam) said, ‘Their testimony is acceptable and the child about whom they testified cannot make them slaves because they proved his genealogical relation.’”

Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked about a man who was on a journey with a female slave and two male servant slaves. The man said to the two male slaves, "You both are free for the sake of Allah (swt). Bear witness that what is in the womb of this bondwoman is from me." Later, the bondwoman gave birth to a boy. When they returned to the man's heirs, the heirs denied the claim and enslaved the boy and the two male servants. Afterward, the two male slaves were emancipated, and after their emancipation, they testified that their former master had made them witness that the child in the womb of the bondwoman was indeed his child. Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Their testimony is valid in favor of the boy, and the boy cannot enslave them because they have established his lineage."

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of an orphan who has read the Quran, his understanding is proper and his assets are in the hands of a man who wants to work using those assets in business in the manner of profit sharing ( al-Mudarabah ) to which the boy has agreed. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not proper to use it in business until he experiences wet-dream, then hands over his assets to him. If he experiences wet-dream and does not have proper understanding, nothing must be given to him forever.’” Humayd has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Ja‘far ibn Sama‘ah from Dawud ibn Sarhan from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith.
