hadith 9949
Imam Ali (AS) said, Serving the soul means protecting it from [unlawful] pleasures and acquisitions, training it with knowledge and wisdom and making it strive in performing acts of worship and obedience, for in this lies the salvation for the soul.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : خِدْمَةُ النَّفْسِ صيانَتُها عَنِ اللَّذّاتِ وَ المُقْتَنَياتِ وَ رِياضَتُها بِالعُلُومِ وَ الحِكَمِ وَ اجْتِهادُها (إجْهادُها) بِالعِباداتِ وَ الطّاعاتِ وَفِي ذلِكَ نَجاةُ النَّفْسِ

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘ Amirah from Aban ibn Taghlib from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“There is no believer but that his heart inside him has two ears. Into one of them al-Waswas and al-Khannas (two devils) blow and in the other ear an angel blows. Allah supports the believer through the angel as He has said, ‘. . . supported them by a Spirit from Himself. . .’” (58:22)
3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلا وَلِقَلْبِهِ أُذُنَانِ فِي جَوْفِهِ أُذُنٌ يَنْفُثُ فِيهَا الْوَسْوَاسُ الْخَنَّاسُ وَأُذُنٌ يَنْفُثُ فِيهَا الْمَلَكُ فَيُؤَيِّدُ الله الْمُؤْمِنَ بِالْمَلَكِ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ وَأَيَّدَهُمْ بِرُوحٍ مِنْهُ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that every believing and unbeliever person visits his family everyday just after midday. If he finds his family performing good deeds, he praises and thanks Allah for this. When an unbeliever finds his family in good deeds, he laments and regrets (for his lost opportunities).”
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ وَلاَ كَافِرٍ إِلاَّ وَهُوَ يَأْتِي أَهْلَهُ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ فَإِذَا رَأَى أَهْلَهُ يَعْمَلُونَ بِالصَّالِحَاتِ حَمِدَ الله عَلَى ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا رَأَى الْكَافِرُ أَهْلَهُ يَعْمَلُونَ بِالصَّالِحَاتِ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ حَسْرَةً.
