“He (the Imam) (a.s.), has said, ‘Performing salat (prayer) in the Masjid of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, is equal to ten thousand salat (prayer).”’

“Once we were with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and he said, ‘You must say a great deal of Salat (prayer) and supplications in this Masjid. There is no doubt that for every servant (of Allah) there is a certain share of sustenance that is passed to him undeniably.’”

"If he does not fear that the time for the prayer will expire, he should complete it (in full). But if he fears that the time will expire, he should shorten it”.

“I once asked abu Ibrahim (a.s.), ‘When we enter Makkah or al-Madinah, should we perform Salat (prayer) in complete or reduced form?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If you perform in reduced form it is what it is; and if you perform in complete form it, then is an increasing good.’”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ’’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Makkah is the sacred place of Allah and al-Madinah is the sacred place of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. Al-Kufah is my sacred place. Whoever of the tyrants may want to have it through eventful ways, Allah will crush his backbones.’ ”

“I heard abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘If one builds a Masjid, Allah builds for him a house in paradise.’ Abu ‘Ubaydah has said, ‘Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once passed by on the way to Makkah and I had built a Masjid with stones and asked him, “I pray to Allah to keep my souls in the service of your cause , I hope this will be of those (houses in paradise).” He (the Imam) said, “Yes, it will be so.’””

“When Qaim (a.s) reaches the Kufa Masjid, its walls would be of solid bricks and mortar; he would look at it and say: Woe be on the one who demolished you, woe be on the one who facilitated your razing, and woe be on the one who constructed you with solid bricks and changed the Qibla of Nuh. And fortunate are those who witness the razing in the company of the Qaim of Ahle Bayt. They are the best of the peoples.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked me, ‘Where is your shop in relation to the Masjid?’ I replied, ‘It is near the door of the Masjid.’ He then said, ‘When you want to go to your shop, first go to the Masjid, perform two or four Rak‘at Salah (prayer) and at the end say, “I have attended this morning by the means and power of Allah, but not by my own means and power, in fact it is by Your means and power O Lord. O Allah, I am Your servant and I appeal to You to grant me (wealth) through Your generosity, as You have commanded me to pray to You and appeal. Make this possible for me with ease, so I can be affluent and in good health by Your help.’””

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘In the year forty-one Mu‘awiyah decided to perform al-Hajj. He sent certain carpenters with tools with orders to the governor of al-Madinah to remove the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and position it in place of his pulpit in Damascus. When they began to remove the pulpit, a sun eclipse took place and the earth began to shake. They stopped the work and wrote about it to Mu‘awiyah. He wrote back and urged them to do what they were ordered to do before. They then complied with the order and today the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah is the opening that you can see.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When you enter the Masjid through the second door on the right of the Masjid, count five pillars, two in shadow and three in the open compound, near the third is the station of Ibrahim, Allah has granted him peace. It is the fifth from the wall.’ He (narrator) has said, ‘During the rule of abu al-‘Abbas, abu ‘Abd Allah, entered through al-fil door, bore to the left on entering the door and performed Salah (prayer) near the fourth pillar which is opposite to the fifth pillar.’ I then asked, ‘Is this the pillar of Ibrahim?’ He replied, ‘Yes, it is.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Did the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, say, “Between my house and my pulpit is a garden of the gardens of paradise?”’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘Yes, he did say so.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘The house of Ali and Fatimah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, is between the house of the Holy Prophet and the door which is parallel to the alley toward al-Baqi‘.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If you enter through that door, the wall is on the side of your left shoulder.’ He (the Imam) them mentioned other houses and said, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “Performing salat (prayer) in my Masjid is equal to one thousand salat (prayer) in other places except Masjid al-Haram (the Sacred Masjid) where it is more virtuous.’””
