“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Of the Sunnah of prophets is draining al-Istinja’ (one’s urine) and circumcision.’”

“Burayd al-Ajliy wanted to get married. Burayd said, to Muhammad, ‘Ask abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about what I plan to do. I want to return people’s properties left with me for safe-keeping and it keeps me involved. Thereafter I like to stay away from worldly things and return everyone’s things that belong to them. He (the narrator) has said, ‘Muhammad asked Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about it, informed him of the story, and asked about his decision.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Does he want to start a fight against his own soul? He must not do so. Instead, he must give and take for the sake of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious.’”

He said: "The best time to make up the missed night prayers is at the same hour during the following night when it was missed. However, it is permissible to make them up during the day, even before the sun's decline (before noon)."

"A woman who has control over herself, is neither foolish nor under guardianship, her marriage without a guardian is permissible."

“When a Jew, Christian or a pagan greets you with peace just say, ‘ ‘Alayka’ meaning, ‘the same to you.’”

I said to Abu Abdillah (as), "I owe a debt to orphans, and I fear that if I sell my estate, I will be left with nothing." Imam (as) said: "Do not sell your estate; rather, give some and keep some."

"For the tongue of a mute person, the eye of a blind person, and the private parts and testicles of a free eunuch, one-third of the full blood money (diyya) is due. However, for the private part of a young boy, the full blood money is due."

I said to Abi Ja’far عليه السلام: … he said: … and Allāh Blessed and Exalted did not place in the religion any discomfort for “difficulty” is more extreme than “discomfort”.

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’The testator has the right to cancel or change his will in his life time.”’

Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, said: I was at the place of Ziyad bin Ubaidullah, and at his place was Rabee’a al-Ra’y. Ziyad said to him: O Rabee’a, what did the Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, declare as forbidden in Medina? He said to him: Mail for mail. Then I said to Rabee’a: Was there mail during the era of Allah’s Messenger, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family? Then he became silent and did not answer me. He said: Then Ziyad approached me and said: O father of Abdullah, then what do you say? I said: The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, declared as forbidden, in Medina, that which is between the two laba’s of hunted prey. He said: And what are their two laba’s? He said: That which is surrounded by grounds with black stone. He said: And he said to me: What did the Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, declare as forbidden from trees? I said: From ‘Eer to Wa’eer. [1] Safwan said: Ibn Maskan said: Hasan said: Then a person asked him while I was sitting, and he said to him: And what is their two laba’s? He said: That which is between the two trumpets until the narrow mountain pass.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, if the testimony of a slave is acceptable. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is permissible and the first one who rejected the testimony of a slave was so and

“About the case of one who is absent if he divorces his wife abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘She must commence her ‘Iddah (waiting period) from the day he has divorced her.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), disliked drinking from silver and silver-coated utensils as well as silver coated containers of perfumes and combs.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘lightning does not affect the speaker (of Allah).’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘Who is a speaker?’ The Imam said, ‘One who reads one hundred verses of the Holy Quran.’”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about assuming the state of Ihram from Ghamrah. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful, but Barid al-‘Aqiq is more desirable to me.’”

“I once asked one of the two Imams, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about al-Madhiy (certain secreted lubricant from urethra). He (the Imam) said, ‘It does not invalidate Wudu’ and it is not necessary to wash one’s clothes or body. It is only like nasal mucus and saliva.’”

I asked him about a man who entrusted me with some money, but he died without leaving anything for his children, and he had not performed the Hajj of Islam. Imam (as) said: "Perform Hajj on his behalf, and whatever remains, give it to his children."

I asked Abu Abdullah (as), "Did the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) declare Medina a sanctuary?" Imam (as) replied: "Yes, he declared an area of a barid (about 22 kilometers) by a barid as a sanctuary, forbidding the cutting of its of its ʿIdhāhāʾ (trees)." I then asked: "What about its hunting?" Imam (as) replied: "People do not lie."

he asked Imam abu Ja’far (a.s.) about the meaning of the following verse of the Holy Quran. “Believers, be pious before God and always be friends with the truthful ones.” (9:119) The Imam (a.s.) replied, “ ‘The truthful ones’ is a reference to us.”

“Once I asked abu Ja’far (a.s.) of the minimum amount of belief with which one is considered a polytheist (one who considers other things as partners of Allah). The narrator has said that the Imam said, ‘It is he who calls a nut a pebble and a pebble a nut and considers it his religion. ’”
