hadith 557
2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from ‘Abd al-Karim from abu Basir who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man’s ’ Ila ’ (swearing) against his wife before going to bed with her. He (the Imam) said, ‘ 7/a’ (swearing) does not take place until one goes to bed with his wife.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
قُلْتُ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ يُؤْلِي مِنِ امْرَأَتِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا قَالَ لَا يَقَعُ الْإِيلَاءُ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ بِهَا .

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ibn Mahbub from Hisham ibn Salim from Aban ibn Taghlib who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘A believer may suffer a nightmare so his sins are forgiven or is bodily humiliated so his sins are forgiven.’”
4ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَيُهَوَّلُ عَلَيْهِ فِي نَوْمِهِ فَيُغْفَرُ لَهُ ذُنُوبُهُ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُمْتَهَنُ فِي بَدَنِهِ فَيُغْفَرُ لَهُ ذُنُوبُهُ.

11. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ‘Ammar abu ‘Asem who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Four people’s prayers are not accepted. One is he who destroys his wealth and appeals, “Lord, grant me sustenance.’” Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, then says, “Did I not command you to observe moderation?””’
11ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) أَرْبَعَةٌ لا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ فَأَفْسَدَهُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ ارْزُقْنِي فَيَقُولُ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَ لَمْ آمُرْكَ بِالاقْتِصَادِ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from al-Mufaddal ibn Salih from Layth al-Muradiy who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who comes to Makkah in the days of Mina after visiting the House, and performs Tawaf around the House optionally. He (the Imam) said, ‘Remaining in Mina’ is better and more beloved to me.”
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ لَيْثٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَأْتِي مَكَّةَ أَيَّامَ مِنًى بَعْدَ فَرَاغِهِ مِنْ زِيَارَةِ الْبَيْتِ فَيَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ تَطَوُّعاً فَقَالَ الْمُقَامُ بِمِنًى أَفْضَلُ وَأَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about performing Salah (prayer) for the dead bodies of men and women. He (the Imam) said, ’The dead bodies of men are placed near men and those of women behind the (dead) men.”’
1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ كَيْفَ يُصَلَّى عَلَى الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ قَالَ يُوضَعُ الرَّجُلُ مِمَّا يَلِي الرِّجَالَ وَالنِّسَاءُ خَلْفَ الرِّجَالِ.

[5/1545] al-Kafi: A number of our companions from Ahmad b. Muhammad and Sahl b. Ziyad all together from Ibn Mahbub from Jamil b. Salih from al-Fudhayl b. Yasar from Abi Abdillahعليه السلام. He (Fudhayl) said
I heard him (i.e. the Imam) say: The one who labours over the Qur’an and memorizes it with great difficulty on his part and having poor memory - for him is double the reward

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following
“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying that ’Amir al-Mu’minin disliked exchanging of one wasaq (a certain unit of measurement) of dates of Khaybar with two wasaq of dates of al- Madinah because dates of Khaybar are of superior quality.’”
8- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَسْتَبْدِلَ وَسْقاً مِنْ تَمْرِ خَيْبَرَ بِوَسْقَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِ الْمَدِينَةِ لأنَّ تَمْرَ خَيْبَرَ أَجْوَدُهُمَا.

13. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al- Washsha’ from Muthanna al-Hannat from abu Hamza who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once said to me, ‘The swallowing of a servant (of Allah) of no other drop is more beloved to Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, than the drop (feeling) of anger when it runs around in his heart, and he swallows it by means of patience and forbearance.’”
13ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ مُثَنًّى الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) مَا مِنْ جُرْعَةٍ يَتَجَرَّعُهَا الْعَبْدُ أَحَبَّ إِلَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ جُرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ يَتَجَرَّعُهَا عِنْدَ تَرَدُّدِهَا فِي قَلْبِهِ إِمَّا بِصَبْرٍ وَإِمَّا بِحِلْمٍ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Ya’qub ibn Shu’ayb who has said the following
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever visits his brother (in belief) in a side of the city just to please Allah, has visited Him, and it becomes a responsibility for Allah to honor His visitor.’”
5ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ مَنْ زَارَ أَخَاهُ فِي جَانِبِ الْمِصْرِ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ الله فَهُوَ زَوْرُهُ وَحَقٌّ عَلَى الله أَنْ يُكْرِمَ زَوْرَهُ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Haytham ibn abu Masruq from al-Hakam ibn Miskin from Muhammad ibn Marwan who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that if two drain-shoots, one with rain water and the other with urine mix, and drops thereof sprinkle over one’s clothes, it is not harmful for him.”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ أَبِي مَسْرُوقٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
لَوْ أَنَّ مِيزَابَيْنِ سَالاَ أَحَدُهُمَا مِيزَابُ بَوْلٍ وَالآخَرُ مِيزَابُ مَاءٍ فَاخْتَلَطَا ثُمَّ أَصَابَكَ مَا كَانَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ.

مَنْ صَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ يَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ قُلْ هُوَ الله أَحَدٌ خَمْسِينَ مَرَّةً لَمْ يَنْفَتِلْ وَبَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الله ذَنْبٌ.

7. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ibn Muskan from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘On the Day of Judgment Allah will not speak to three kinds of people and will not cleanse them and they suffer a painful suffering. One is an old fornicating man, a pimp and a woman who allows men to go in the bed of her husband with her.’”
7- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
ثَلاثَةٌ لا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ الشَّيْخُ الزَّانِي وَالدَّيُّوثُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ تُوطِئُ فِرَاشَ زَوْجِهَا.

2. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah) (a.s.), has said, ‘If a man gives in marriage his granddaughter to a man, it is binding upon his son and his son also can give her in marriage.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if her father likes one man and her grandfather prefers another man?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Grandfather has greater priority.’”
2- أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما السَّلام) قَالَ
إِذَا زَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ ابْنَةَ ابْنِهِ فَهُوَ جَائِزٌ عَلَى ابْنِهِ وَلابْنِهِ أَيْضاً أَنْ يُزَوِّجَهَا فَقُلْتُ فَإِنْ هَوِيَ أَبُوهَا رَجُلا وَجَدُّهَا رَجُلا فَقَالَ الْجَدُّ أَوْلَى بِنِكَاحِهَا.

17. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Mu‘awiyah ibn Hakim from abu Malik al-Hadramiy from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about my sending a dog to hunt and after mentioning the name of Allah, when I have nothing with me to slaughter the prey. He (the Imam) said, ‘Allow the dog to kill the prey, then you can use it for food.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُكَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أُرْسِلُ الْكَلْبَ وَ أُسَمِّي عَلَيْهِ فَيَصِيدُ وَ لَيْسَ مَعِي مَا أُذَكِّيهِ بِهِ قَالَ دَعْهُ حَتَّى يَقْتُلَهُ وَ كُلْ .

18. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Musa ibn Bakr from Zurarah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a man sends a dog but forgets to mention the name of Allah, it then is like slaughtering and forgetting to mention the name of Allah and so also is the case of shooting the prey with an arrow and forgetting to mention the name of Allah.’”
أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
إِذَا أَرْسَلَ الرَّجُلُ كَلْبَهُ وَ نَسِيَ أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ فَهُوَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ مَنْ ذَبَحَ وَ نَسِيَ أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ وَ كَذَلِكَ إِذَا رَمَى بِالسَّهْمِ وَ نَسِيَ أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ .

6. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Rabi’ ibn Muhammad al-Musalli from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once said to me, ‘Our cause had still been hidden until the children of Kisan began to speak of it on the roads, villages and in large places.’”

قَالَ لِي مَا زَالَ سِرُّنَا مَكْتُوماً حَتَّى صَارَ فِي يَدَيْ وُلْدِ كَيْسَانَ فَتَحَدَّثُوا بِهِ فِي الطَّرِيقِ وَقُرَى السَّوَادِ.

4. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hakam from abu al-Maghra’ from iq ibn ‘Ammar from abu Ibrahim (a.s.) who has said the following
“The narrator has said that he asked abu Ibrahim (a.s.) about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Gracious, ‘Whoever gives a virtuous loan to God will receive double from Him in addition to an honorable reward.” (57:11).The Imam (a.s.) said, “It was revealed about the payments to Imam.”
4ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يُقْرِضُ الله قَرْضاً حَسَناً فَيُضاعِفَهُ لَهُ وَلَهُ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي صِلَةِ الامَامِ.

I and Ahmad Ibn Abi Abdullah were at Askar when a messenger came from “the man” and said: “Ahmad Ibn Ishaq Ashari, Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Hamadani and Ahmad Ibn Hamza Ibn Yasa are all trusted men.”
