2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muthanna’ al-Hannat from Zurarah who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the pebbles which are thrown on al-Jamar. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is taken from Jam‘ and thereafter from Mina’.’”
عدة من أصحابنا، عن سهل بن زياد، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن مثنى الحناط عن زرارة، عن أبي عبدالله عليه السلام قال
سألته عن الحصى التي يرمي بها الجمار، فقال: تؤخذ من جمع وتؤخذ بعد ذلك من منى.

26. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from abu Yahya al-Wasitiy from certain persons of our people who has said the following
“Abu al-Hassan, al-Madiy (a.s.), has said, ‘Private parts are two: the front and back. The back is covered with the rump. If you cover the penis and testicles you have covered your private parts.’” In another Hadith it is said, ‘The back is covered with the rump. You can cover the front with your hand.’
محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن أبي يحيى الواسطي، عن بعض أصحابنا، عن أبي الحسن الماضي عليه السلام قال
العورة عورتان القبل والدبر، فأما الدبر مستور بالاليتين فإذا سترت القضيب والبيضتين فقد سترت العورة.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“About the case of a man who dies and leaves behind a widow and he is absent, one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘She must commence her ‘Iddah (waiting period) from the day she receives the news of his death.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا ( عليهما السلام ) فِي الرَّجُلِ يَمُوتُ وَ تَحْتَهُ امْرَأَةٌ وَ هُوَ غَائِبٌ قَالَ
تَعْتَدُّ مِنْ يَوْمِ يَبْلُغُهَا وَفَاتُهُ .

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies and about where she can complete her waiting period. He (the Imam) said, ‘She can do so wherever she likes but she must not pass a night in a place other than her house.’”
محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن العلاء بن رزين، عن محمد بن مسلم، عن أحدهما عليهما السلام قال
سألته عن المتوفى عنها زوجها أين تعتد، قال: حيث شاءت ولا تبيت عن بيتها.

5. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ali from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Yusuf from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Fayd ibn al-Mukhtar who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that serving food, offering greetings of peace aloud and performing Salat (prayer) when people are sleeping are reasons for which one may gain salvation.”
5ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ فَيْضِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
الْمُنْجِيَاتُ إِطْعَامُ الطَّعَامِ وَإِفْشَاءُ السَّلامِ وَالصَّلاةُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ.

12. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Qasim ibn ‘Urwah from ‘Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When it is sunset, it is time for two Salah (prayer) except that this is before that.’”
12ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
إِذَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ دَخَلَ وَقْتُ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ إِلاَّ أَنَّ هَذِهِ قَبْلَ هَذِهِ.

6. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from Jamil who has narrated the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a child if he can testify in the case of murder. He (the Imam) said, ‘His first words are accepted but his second words are not accepted.’”
6- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ جَمِيلٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الصَّبِيِّ هَلْ تَجُوزُ شَهَادَتُهُ فِي الْقَتْلِ قَالَ يُؤْخَذُ بِأَوَّلِ كَلامِهِ وَلا يُؤْخَذُ بِالثَّانِي.

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Sinan from ‘Ammar ibn Marwan from Sama’a ibn Mehran from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has made His friend to become a victim of His enemy in this world.”
5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ جَعَلَ وَلِيَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا غَرَضاً لِعَدُوِّهِ.

10. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from certain individuals of our people from Muhammad ibn Hisham from Muyassir from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Not to commit unlawful acts is a form of expressing thanks for a bounty. A complete expression of thankfulness is that one says, “All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.””’
10ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُيَسِّرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
شُكْرُ النِّعْمَةِ اجْتِنَابُ الْمَحَارِمِ وَتَمَامُ الشُّكْرِ قَوْلُ الرَّجُلِ الْحَمْدُ لله رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from al- Haytham ibn Waqid from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Whoever is happy with the little sustenance (that Allah has given him), Allah becomes happy with his little good deeds.”
3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
مَنْ رَضِيَ مِنَ الله بِالْيَسِيرِ مِنَ الْمَعَاشِ رَضِيَ الله مِنْهُ بِالْيَسِيرِ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ.

7. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ishaq from Bakr ibn Muhammad from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Whenever a Muslim helps make the wish of a Muslim to come true, Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, says, ‘With Me is your reward and I will not agree to allow it to be less than paradise.’”
7ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
مَا قَضَى مُسْلِمٌ لِمُسْلِمٍ حَاجَةً إِلا نَادَاهُ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَيَّ ثَوَابُكَ وَلا أَرْضَى لَكَ بِدُونِ الْجَنَّةِ.

11. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), if a man performs Salat (prayer) in congregation in his home in Makkah is better or his performing Salat (prayer) in Masjid al-Haram alone. He (the Imam) said, ‘His performing Salat (prayer) in Masjid al-Haram alone is better.’”
11ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي فِي جَمَاعَةٍ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ بِمَكَّةَ أَفْضَلُ أَوْ وَحْدَهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فَقَالَ وَحْدَهُ.

(42) Muhammad bin Ya’qoob narrated from some of his companions from Ahmad bin Muhammad from Ali bin al-Hakam from Abu Ayyoob al-Khazzaz from Muhammad bin Muslim that Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) had said
“If you are informed that your man has disappeared, do not deny that.” The same was narrated by Muhammad bin Ya’qoob from Ali bin Ibraheem bin Hashim from Muhammad bin Abu Omayr from Abu Ayyoob al-Khazzaz from Muhammad bin Muslim.
42 - وأخبرنا محمد بن يعقوب، عن عدة من رجاله، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن أبي أيوب الخزاز، عن محمد بن مسلم قال
سمعت أبا عبد الله يقول: إنْ بلغَكم عن صاحبكم غيبةٌ فلا تنكروها.

4-10 In another tradition it is narrated that (the author of the book narrated) my father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ahmad ibn Idris quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, on the authority of al-Abbas an-Nakhkhas al-Asadi
“I asked Al-Ridha (s), ‘Are you the possessor of authority now?’ Al-Ridha (s) replied, ‘Yes. By God, I am the Divine Leader of the people and the genies.’”
10 - نَصٌّ آخَرُ: حَدَّثَنا أَبي‏ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيس، عَنْ أَحْمَدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنِ العَبَّاس النَخَّاس الأَسَدِي قالَ
قُلْتُ لِلرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: أَنْتَ صاحِبُ هذا الأَمْرِ؟ قالَ: إِي وَاللَّهِ عَلَى الإِنْس وَالجِنِّ.

18. My father (RA) said: Sa`d ibn `Abd Allah said, on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, on the authority of is father, on the authority of Ibn Abu `Umayr, on the authority of Ibn Udhaynah, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Muslim that Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS) said

5. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from ibn abu Nasr from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin, from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Once, I asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah) (a.s.), about a prey. A stone or clay-ball kills it if it is edible. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not edible.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا ( عليهما السلام ) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَتْلِ الْحَجَرِ وَ الْبُنْدُقِ أَ يُؤْكَلُ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ لَا .

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
I once asked one of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a man who finds blood in clothes of his brother while he is performing Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘He is not required to inform him until he completes his Salah (prayer) again.’”
8ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما الْسَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَرَى فِي ثَوْبِ أَخِيهِ دَماً وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ لاَ يُؤْذِنُهُ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ.

17. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from certain persons of our people from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not harmful to pay al-Fitrah for two, three, or four people to one man.’”
17ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
لا بَأْسَ أَنْ يُعْطِيَ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ عَنْ رَأْسَيْنِ وَثَلاثَةٍ وَأَرْبَعَةٍ يَعْنِي الْفِطْرَةَ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Sahl ibn Ziyad, all from ibn Mahbub, from Jamil ibn Salih, from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
‘‘One who has memorized the Holy Quran and acts upon it will be with the honorable and righteous angels.”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ جَمِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
الْحَافِظُ لِلْقُرْآنِ الْعَامِلُ بِهِ مَعَ السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْبَرَرَةِ.

7. It is narrated from Imam abu Ja‘far (a.s.) who said when he was asked
“Is it permissible to say Allah is a thing?” “Yes, it is permissible because it excludes Him from being ignored altogether and from being analogized or considered similar to the creatures.”
7ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ قَالَ
سُئِلَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَ يَجُوزُ أَنْ يُقَالَ إِنَّ الله شَيْ‏ءٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ يُخْرِجُهُ مِنَ الْحَدَّيْنِ حَدِّ التَّعْطِيلِ وَحَدِّ التَّشْبِيهِ.
