“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when seeing a quarrelling group of people would not pass by without always saying three times loudly, ‘You must maintain piety in the presence of Allah . 555

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Be afraid of your desires just as you fear your enemies. Nothing is a more dangerous enemy to men than following their desires and what their tongues harvest.’”

“One who meets a Hajj pilgrim and shakes hands with him is as if he has kissed Hajar-e-Aswad.”

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a child when he is made to assume the state of Ihram? He (the Imam) said, ‘When he safeguards and protects.’”

“I once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ’Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about the case of a man who gave a certain amount of assets to another man for Mudarabah (profit sharing) and prohibited him from taking it out with him, but he went out. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is held responsible for the assets and the profit is for both.’”

“I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘Beware of red camels because the life of such camels is the shortest.’”

‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying: “I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say that fever is the harbinger of death; it is the prison of Allah on earth and the share of a believing person from the fire.”

narrated to him ’Isma‘il ibn Sa‘d al-Ahwas who has said the following: “I asked al-Rida (a.s.), ‘Of how many Rak‘at does Salah (prayer) consist?’ He replied, ‘There are fifty-one Rak‘at (every day).”’ Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa a similar Hadith.

“Whoever associates with an Imam whose Imamah is from Allah, while his Imamah not from Allah, then he is associating partners with Allah.”

“It is a good idea for the believers to shake each other’s hands after one of them remains out of sight, even because of a tree in between.”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The female believer is more valued than a male believer, and a male believer is more valued than red sulfur. Who among you has ever seen red sulfur?’”

“Once Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) advised me, ‘You must remain pious before Allah, keep your trust, speak the truth, maintain good companionship relations and there is no power without Allah.’”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘By Allah a servant cannot get out of sin while persisting in it and a servant cannot get out of sin without confessing to it.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘There is nothing good in dogs except hunting dogs or that which guards cattle.’”

The narrator asked Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) regarding a greater sin. Imam (a.s.) replied, “Every such deed for which Allah has promised Hell is a greater sin.”

“I heard from Yahya ibn Aktham, the judge in the city of Samarra, Iraq his words herein below. It happened only after serious debates, conversations, maintaining good relations and asking him about the knowledge of the members of the family of Muhammad (s.a). He said, “Once when was walking around the grave of the Messenger of Allah I saw Muhammad ibn Ali al-Rida (a.s.) also walk around the grave of the Messenger of Allah. We debated over the issues that I needed to understand. He explained them to me. I then said, “By Allah, I want to ask you a question, but I swear by Allah that I feel shy.” He then said, “I can tell you what you want to ask before you will ask me about it. You want to ask me about Imamat (Leadership with Divine Authority).” I then said, “By Allah, this is it?” He said, “I am he.” I then asked, “Is there any evidence and proof to support it?” He had a staff in his hand and it spoke, “My master certainly is the Imam of this time and he is the Hujja (Leader with Divine Authority)>“

Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Muhammad (as): "Whoever says in the morning before the sun rises [and in the evening before the sun sets]: 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger, and that the religion is as He has prescribed, and Islam is as He has described, and the statement is as He has conveyed, and the Book is as He has revealed, and that Allah is the manifest truth,' and mentions Muhammad and the family of Muhammad with good, and sends peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, Allah will open for him the eight gates of Paradise, and it will be said to him: Enter from whichever gate you wish, and his sins for that day will be erased."

“I was in the presence of Abu al-Hassan (a.s.) after the death of his son, Abu Ja‘far. I thought to myself wanting to say, “Abu Ja‘far and Abu Muhammad at this time are like Abu al-Hassan Musa and ’Isma‘il, the sons of Ja‘far ibn Muhammad (a.s.), and their stories are similar, since Abu Muhammad was the appointee after Abu Ja'far (AS).” At that moment, Abu al-Hassan turned to me before I could say anything and said, “Yes, O Abu Hashim, Allah applied Bada’ (a change in the current natural conditions) in the case of Abu Muhammad after Abu Ja‘far (AS), a fact that was not known for him (Abu Muhammad). In the same way He applied Bada’ in the case of Musa after the death of ’Isma‘il as an issue that through which his condition came to light. That is what you thought to yourself. Even though people of falsehood may dislike it, Abu Muhammad, my son, will be the successor after me. With him is the knowledge that he will need and with him are the signs of Imamate (Leadership with Divine Authority).”

Even if he is an Alawite and Fatimite?” Imam al-Baqir (as) said: “Yes, even if he is an Alawite and Fatimite.” The narrator asked: “Even if he is one of Ali bin Abu Talib’s sons?” Imam al-Baqir said: “Yes, even if he is one of Ali bin Abu Talib’s sons.” The same tradition had been narrated by Muhammad bin Ya’qoob from Muhammad bin Yahya from Ahmad bin Muhammad from Muhammad bin Sinan from Abu Salam from Sawra bin Kulayb from Imam Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as).

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about a woman who is affected mentally and she has an asset which is in the hands of her brother, if there is Zakat on it. He (the Imam) said, ‘If her brother does business with it Zakat is obligatory.’” A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from Muhammad ibn Sama‘ah from Musa ibn Bakr from Salih a similar Hadith.”
