Everything in this book that is narrated from Muhammad ibn Khalid Al-Qasri has been transmitted by me from Jafar ibn Muhammad ibn Masrur - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Amir, from his uncle Abdullah ibn Amir, from Hafsah, from Muhammad ibn Khalid ibn Abdullah Al-Bajali Al-Qasri, who was an Arab from Kufa.
عن جعفر بن محمّد بن مسرور- رحمه اللّه- عن الحسين بن محمّد بن عامر، عن عمّه عبد اللّه بن عامر، عن حفصة، عن‌ محمّد بن خالد بن عبد اللّه البجليّ القسريّ و هو كوفيّ عربيّ‌.
و ما كان فيه عن محمّد بن خالد القسريّ فقد رويته

Hadith.1552 - Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Qasri asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about seeking divine guidance (istikhara). Imam (as) said: "Seek guidance from Allah (swt) in the last unit (rak'ah) of the night prayer while you are in prostration, repeating it one hundred and one times." Muhammad asked: "How should I say it?" Imam (as) said: "You should say, Astakheeru Allāha bi-raḥmatihi, astakheeru Allāha bi-raḥmatihi. 'I seek guidance from Allah (swt) by His mercy, I seek guidance from Allah (swt) by His mercy.'"
1552 - وَ سَأَلَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ اَلْقَسْرِيُّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَنِ اَلاِسْتِخَارَةِ فَقَالَ
«اِسْتَخِرِ اَللَّهَ فِي آخِرِ رَكْعَةٍ مِنْ صَلاَةِ اَللَّيْلِ وَ أَنْتَ سَاجِدٌ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ وَ مَرَّةً» قَالَ كَيْفَ أَقُولُ قَالَ «تَقُولُ أَسْتَخِيرُ اَللَّهَ بِرَحْمَتِهِ أَسْتَخِيرُ اَللَّهَ بِرَحْمَتِهِ.
