to Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as): "Shall I mention the names of the Imams (as) during the prayer?" Imam (as) replied: "Summarize them”.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘In case of sneezing in Salah (prayer) one should say, ‘Tahmid, (all praise belongs to Allah).”

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a man who married a slave girl, then had intercourse with her and caused ifda' (a severe injury of female reproductive organs). Imam (as) replied: "He is responsible for providing for her needs as long as she is alive."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You can perform this Salah (prayer) during the night and on a journey, during the night or day, and if you like, you can make it part of your optional Salah (prayer).”’

"Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked about a man who prays the Jumu’ah prayer as four rak'ahs. Should he recite aloud? Imam (as) replied: "Yes, and there is Qunoot (a supplication) in the second rak'ah."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The Ghusl (bath) on the day of ‘Arafah, is at Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime) and you must perform al-Zuhr and al-‘Asr Salat (prayer) together with one Adhan and two ‘Iqamah.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who performs al-Hajj for his brother or father or anyone else; what is proper for him to say? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, after assuming the state of Ihram he should say, ‘O Lord, for any fatigue, hardships, afflictions and shaken condition that I may have experienced on the way, grant reward to so and so and grant me reward for completing it on his behalf.’” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ibn Muskan has narrated a similar Hadith.

“The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, about al-Mawqaf (the station) has said, ‘You must come out of Batn ‘Urnah.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Hajj of the people of al-Arak is not valid.’” NOTE: (Ahadith 1-3 of this Chapter are best explained in the form of fatwa).

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘It is not an offense to speak of Allah when you are urinating; speaking of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, is good in all conditions. Do not feel embarrassed about it.’”

“Abu ’Abdillah (a.s.) said, ‘Perform two Rak‘at Salah (prayer) and ask Allah to choose for you what is good. By Allah, if a Muslim asks Allah to choose for him what is good, He certainly chooses for him as such.’”

“I once went to visit abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when he performed Salah (prayer). I counted his Tasbih in Ruku’ (bowing down on one’s knees) and Sujud (prostration) which were sixty Tasbih.’”

when he would go out on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, he would refuse to have a carpet (or mat) brought to him to pray on. He would say, "This is a day when the Messenger of Allah (sw) would go out until he was exposed to the horizons of the sky, then he would place his forehead on the earth."

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about why Talbiyah is required. He (the Imam) said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sent revelation to Ibrahim ‘Alayhi al-Salam that said, ‘Call people for al-Hajj. They will come to you on foot and on lean camels from all directions.’ He called and his call was answered from all directions with al-Talbiyah (here I am O Lord, to obey Your command).”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘We walk on foot. What must we do?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Those who have the means of transportation perform the morning Salat (prayer) in Mina’ but you can go on and perform your Salat (prayer) on the way.’”

No, there is no definite reading for it. Praise Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and say, ‘O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and ask Allah to forgive your great sins.’ He (the Imam) then said, ’Every sin is great.’”

"When you pray in Masjid al-Shajarah, say while seated after your prayer and before you stand: the words that a Muhrim (one in Ihram) says. Then stand, walk until you reach the mile marker, and enter the flat terrain of al-Bayda'. When you are in the flat terrain of al-Bayda', begin the Talbiyah."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when a man completes Tawaf and the two Rak‘at salat (prayer), he should go to Zamzam. He should take one or two containers full of water, drink, pour on his head, back and belly and say, ‘O Allah, make it useful knowledge, abundant sustenance and a cure for all illnesses and deficiencies,’ and then go back to the Black Stone.’”

I asked him about a man performing Hajj on behalf of his brother, his father, or another person. Should he say anything specific? Imam (as) said: "Yes, after entering into Ihram, he should say: 'O Allah (swt), whatever hardship, difficulty, trial, or dishevelment I experience during this journey, grant its reward to [the person on whose behalf the Hajj is performed], and reward me for fulfilling it on their behalf.'"

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When you pray against the enemy of Allah say, “O Lord, we do not know of so and so except that he is Your enemy and the enemy of Your messenger. O Lord, fill up his grave with fire as well as his belly and hasten him to the fire, because he loved Your enemies, he was an enemy of Your friends and hated the family of Your Holy prophet. O Lord, constrict down his grave.’ When his body is picked up, then say, ‘O Lord, do not raise him and do not purify him.’”

I heard Aba `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) say: Whoever says subhanallah, alhamdulillah, la ilaha illallah and Allahu akbar forty times after every obligatory prayer before moving his feet, then asks Allah [for something], Allah will give him what he asked for.
