“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘In a land contract you can have it for twenty years or less from its people to develop it and pay its expenses; such contract is not unlawful.’”

It is not harmful.’”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of slave- girls and conditions that say, ‘She must not be sold or transferred in inheritance or given as gift.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is lawful except inheritance; she is inherited. Any condition against the book of Allah is rejected.’”

I asked him about a man who purchases two sisters and has relations with one of them, then has relations with the other. Imam (as) said: "If he had relations with the second one out of ignorance, the first does not become prohibited for him. However, if he had relations with the second one while knowing that it is prohibited, then both of them become prohibited for him."

he said: "An elderly man and an elderly woman are to be flogged one hundred lashes and then stoned. A virgin man and a virgin woman are to be flogged one hundred lashes and exiled for a year. The exile is from one city to another. Indeed, Commander of the Faithful (as) exiled two men from Kufa to Basra."

“It is detestable for the person in a state of Ihram to sleep on a yellow bed or yellow Mirfaqah (comforter).”

“No two fierce wolves in a flock of sheep without a shepherd, one wolf on either side is as quick (to destroy them) as the love of property and fame is to destroy the religion of a Muslim.”

"If he has no other arrows except the 'Mi'rad' and mentioned the name of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, over it, then he may eat from what it killed. However, if he had other arrows besides it, then he should not."

"He must pay the value of the slave and be severely beaten." And regarding a man who kills his own slave, Imam (as) said: "He must free a slave, fast for two consecutive months, and feed sixty needy people, and then repent after that."

He said: "In the two prostrations of forgetfulness, you should say: Bismillah wa billah, wa salla Allahu ‘ala Muhammad wa Aali Muhammad In the name of Allah and by Allah, and may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. He said: "And I heard him say another time: Bismillah wa billah, as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh In the name of Allah and by Allah, peace be upon you, O’ Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the mother of the child of a man who has breastfed a child and he had a daughter from another woman; if the girl is lawful for that child. He (the Imam) said, ‘I do not like the marriage of the daughter of a man to one who is breastfed from the milk of his children.’”

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a man who bought a garment and then returned it to its seller, but the seller refused to cancel the sale except with a reduction in price. The Imam (as) said: "It is not permissible for him to take it back at a reduced price. If he was unaware and took it back, then sold it for more than its original price, he must return the extra amount to the first seller."

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who has a mental condition whose reason has gone; if his divorce is permissible. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not permissible.’ About a woman of the same condition if her selling and charity is permissible, he (the Imam) said, ‘It is not permissible.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin, would write to his agents, ‘You must not make Muslims to perform free labor. Whoever of you asks for what is not obligatory, he has committed transgression and you must not give him anything.’ He (‘Amir al-Mu’minin) would write and recommend about farmers good advice, about them and laborers on hire.’”

“We once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the charities of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and the charities of Fatimah, ‘Alayha al-Salam. He (the Imam) said, ‘Their charities are for banu Hashim and banu al-Muttalib.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about Adhan before dawn. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it is for congregation, it is not acceptable, but if one is alone, then it is not harmful.’”

I heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام saying: everything is referred back to the Book and the Sunna, and every Hadith that does not agree with the Book of Allāh then it is a worthless embellishment.

I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام: what is the least thing by which the slave becomes Kafir? he said: that he innovates something and associates solely on its basis and disassociates from the one who opposes him (in it).

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a group of people who bought cloth and jointly owned it without dividing it among themselves. Is it permissible for any one of them to sell his share of the cloth before taking possession of it? The Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in that." Then Imam (as) added: "This is not like food because food is measured by volume."

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of one who steps on feces or urine whether he must take Wudu’ again?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘No, but one must wash the polluted area clean.’”
