31-239 According to the same documentation, the Prophet (S) said, “Animosity with Ali equals atheism and animosity with the Hashemites equals hypocrisy.”

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Love for women is of the moral manners of the prophets.’”

Prophet (S) said, “Whoever likes to grab the stem of a red hyacinth that God has planted Himself should wholeheartedly seek the Mastery of Ali (a.s.) and the Immaculate Leaders from his progeny, as they are the ones chosen by the Honorable the Exalted God. They are purified of all sins and faults.”

Imam Abu Abdullah (as) said to me: “Is there anything in religion except love? Indeed, Allah, the Almighty, says: ‘Say, if you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.’” (Surah Al-Imran, 3:31)

One who heard Aba `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) heard him saying: One who disobeys Allah does not love him. Then, he recited: You disobey God yet you manifest your love for Him. This is impossible. Had you loved Him, you would have obeyed Him. Surely, the lover obeys the one he loves.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: O `Ali! Whoever loves me, loves you, and loves the Imams from your descendants should praise Allah for his pure birth, for none will love us except he who is pure of birth, and none will hate us except for he who is impure of birth.

O Ali, the one who loves me, loves you and loves the Imams from your sons, let him praise Allah for the goodness of his birth, for indeed, none loves us except for the one whose birth is good, and none hates us except for the one whose birth is wicked.

By Allah, I cannot be stopped by Mu’awiya’s authority to speak the truth about ‘Ali, peace be upon him. I heard the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, say: "‘Ali is the best among you; and in matter of religion, he is the most learned jurist among you, and he knows incisively about my Traditions, more than any of you. And as far the Book of Allah (i.e. the Qu’ran), he is its best student among you all. O, Allah! I love ‘Ali, so You also love him; O Allah! I love ‘Ali, so You also love him."

Whoever likes a sinner is himself a sinner. Whoever likes an obedient person is himself obedient. Whoever aids an oppressor is himself an oppressor. Whoever supports a just person is himself just. Whoever deserts a just person is an oppressor. In fact, there are no family ties between God and anyone. No one can attain friendship with God unless he obeys Him. God’s Prophet (S) told the Children of Abdul Mutallib, ‘Come to me with your good deeds not your relationships. God the Highest said, ‘Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more relationships between them that Day, nor will one ask after another! Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy, they will attain salvation: But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide.’’”

Love your Muslim brother. Love for him what you love for yourself. Hate for him what you hate for yourself. If you need something, ask him for it, and if he asks you, then give to him. Do not spare him from goodness as he does not spare you from goodness. Be a back to him as he is a back to you. When he goes, then protect [his belongings] in his absence. When he is present, visit him. Honour him, for he is from you and you are from him. If he blames you, then do not depart from him until you seek his forgiveness and [ask him to speak] his mind. If a good thing happens to him, then praise Allah for it, and if he suffers, then support him and share in his burden.
