محمد بن أحمد البغدادي الوراق

Allah created one hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets, and I am the best of them with Allah and I do not boast. Allah created one hundred and twenty-four thousand deputies, and `Ali is the best of them and the most preferred of them with Allah. The shaykh said: Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Baghdadi al-Warraq narrated this hadith to me – he said: `Ali b. Muhammad the servant of al-Rashid narrated to us. He said Darim b. Qubaysa narrated to me. He said: `Abdullah b. Muhammad b. Sulayman b. `Abdullah b. al-Hasan narrated to me from his father from his grandfather from Zayd b. `Ali from his father `Ali b. al-Husayn from his father from Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) from the Prophet (s).

the Messenger of Allah (sw) said, “Seek goodness in the company of those with pleasant faces, for indeed their actions are more likely to be good.”

O Ali! None but the pious, the immaculate, the devoted and the sincere ones would honor you as you deserve to be honored. However, there are rarely any such people in my nation. They are as rare in numbers as there are white hairs on a black cow in the darkness of the night!’”

I heard Anas bin Malik say: I heard Allah’s Messenger, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, say on the Day of Ghadeer Khumm whilst he was holding the hand of Ali, peace be upon him: Do I not have more authority upon the believers than they over themselves? They said: Sure. He said: Hence, whoever I am his Mawla [1], then here, Ali is his Mawla. O Allah, befriend those who befriend, antagonize those who antagonize him, support those who support him and abandon those who abandon him.

6-40 Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Baghdady has narrated that Ahmad ibn al-Fazl al-Ahwazi quoted Bakr ibn Ahmad al-Qasri, on the authority of Abu Ahmad Ja’far ibn Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Musa, (on the authority of his father), that his father Musa (Al-Kadhim (MGB)), narrated a similar narration on the authority of his father Ja’far ibn Muhammad (MGB).

O Ali! Pray while wearing this. Don’t you know that praying with an agate ring (on one’s finger) has the reward of seventy prayers? The agate recites glorifications, repents and its reward will be given to its owner. Piety is due to God and by Him we may succeed.’”

The last Wednesday of every month is always one with bad omen.”

Prophet (MGB) said, “The Resurrection Day shall come between the times of the noon and afternoon prayers on a Friday.”

God’s Prophet (MGB) prayed and said, ‘O God! Please bless Saturday mornings and Thursday mornings for my nation.”

The Honorable the Exalted God has created one-hundred twenty-four thousand Prophets. I am the dearest of all in the presence of God and I do not boast about this. The Honorable the Exalted God has created one-hundred twenty-four thousand Trustees. Ali is the dearest and the best of all Trustees in the presence of God.”

Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Talha, Az-Zubayr, Saéd, Abdul Rahman ibn Oaf and some others were looking for the Prophet (MGB) in the house of Umma Salma. They found me sitting at the door. They asked me about him (MGB). I said, ‘The Prophet (MGB) will come out in a moment.’ The Prophet (MGB) came out, padded me on the shoulder and said, ‘O son of Abi Talib! I hope that you do not die. You have superseded others in sixcharacteristics. There is no one else among the Quraysh with such qualities. You are the first man who believed in God. You have been the firmest of them all in doing the orders of the Honorable the Exalted God. You have been the most loyal to your pledge to God. You have been the kindest person with the people. You are the most knowledgeable regarding judicial decrees. You have been the most fair person in equally dividing up the possessions. You are the noblest of them all to the Honorable the Exalted God.”
