“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Using foul language is injustice and injustice is in the fire.’”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The Holy Quran forbids and commands, it commands (people to go) to paradise and prohibits (people from going) to the fire.’”

"Beware of taking lost property, for it is the loss of a believer, and it is a flame from the flames of Hell."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah from his ancestors (a.s.), has narrated that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘The worst water on earth is the water of Barahut which is in Hadramawt where the souls (spirits) of unbelievers camp.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the souls (spirits) of the unbelievers are exposed to hellfire. They say, ‘O Lord, do not make any Day of Judgment for us. Do not allow what You have promised us to come true and do not join the last of us with our first ones.’”

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will spread His mercy to the point where Iblis will hope for His mercy.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one drinks intoxicating liquor, it is a right on Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, to make him drink from tinah of Khabal.’ I asked, ‘What is it?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is puss from the vagina of fornicators.’”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, a servant will be imprisoned for a sin from his sins for one hundred years while looking at his wives and brothers in Paradise.

there is in hell a mill-stone which grinds – will you not ask what it grinds? It was said to him: and what does it grind O commander of the faithful? He said: corrupt scholars, and sinful reciters (of the Qur’an), and unjust tyrants, and treacherous ministers, and lying officials.1 And there is in hell a city called ‘the fortified’ – will you not ask me what is in it? it was said: what is in it O commander of the faithful? he said: in it are the hands of the oath-breakers.

There is a mill in Hell which grinds five. Don’t you wish to ask me what it grinds?’ They asked him (MGB), ‘What does it grind?’ Ali (MGB) said, ‘It grinds wicked wise men; corrupt Quran recitors; wicked oppressors; dishonest ministers; and gnostics who lie. There is a town in Hell which is called Hasineh. Don’t you wish to ask me what is in it?’ They asked him, ‘O Commander of the Faithful! What is in it?’ He (MGB) replied, ‘The hands of the perfidious party (Nakiseen).’”

There is no good in lying nor in mockery, nor in promising your child something then failing to fulfill it. Lying leads to immorality, and immorality leads to the Fire. One of you may not stop lying until it is said: “he lies, and he has committed immorality.” One of you may not stop lying until there is not an iota of honesty in his heart, so he will be called a liar with Allah.

There are four who hear everyone: The Prophet (MGB), the green-eyed Houries , Paradise, and the Fire. In fact, the Prophet (MGB) hears the prayers of whoever sends blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (MGB), and takes his prayers up to God. When anyone asks God to be married to green-eyed Houries, they will say, ‘O Lord! Please grant your servant what he asks for and marry us to him.’ When anyone asks God to take him into Paradise, Paradise would say, ‘O Lord! Please grant to your servant what he has asked Thou for and let him reside in Paradise.’ When anyone asks God for protection from the Fire, the Fire would say, ‘O Lord! Protect your servant from me.’”

“Abu al-Hassan al-Rida (a.s.), has said, that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Friday is the master of days. On this day Allah increases good deeds and obliterates bad deeds, raises the degrees, answers prayers, removes hardships and makes great wishes come true. It is the day wherein Allah increases the number of those He emancipates and sets free from fire. Whoever prays in this day to Allah with full knowledge of His rights and respect, it then becomes necessary for Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, to emancipate and free him from the fire. If he dies on this day or night, he has died a martyr and will be resurrected with full protection. Whoever neglects to respect Him and fails to observe His right, it then becomes a right upon Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, to make him feel the heat of hell unless he repents.’”

I asked, ‘Who would that refer to?’ the Imam (MGB) replied, ‘That refers to anyone who takes even a penny of a believer’s money for himself or deprives him of worldly things.’ I said, ‘I seek refuge in God from God’s Wrath!’ Then the Imam (MGB) added, ‘Indeed the Blessed the Sublime God has sworn by Himself not to house any of the following three groups in Paradise: those who reject God’s judgement; those who reject the judgement of a righteous Divine Leader, and those who disregard a believer’s rights.’ I asked, ‘Should one give a believer what he has a lot more of than his own needs?’ The Imam (MGB) replied, ‘One should not hesitate to do anything for him. Should he hesitate to give him his own self and soul, he is not of his brethren. Rather he would be of the progeny of Satan.’”The compiler of the book - may God increase his acknowledgement - said, “What is meant here by not hesitating to give from one’s self and soul is to assist him whenever he needs any assistance and to help him to fulfill his needs.”

“The Messenger of Allah has said that when an enemy of Allah is taken to his grave, he keeps saying to those who carry his coffin, ‘Why do you not listen to me, O my brethren, I complain before you about what has happened to me, one of your wicked brethren. The enemy of Allah (Satan) deceived me. He placed me in trouble but did not help me to escape. He swore before me that he was my good advisor but betrayed me. I complain before you against the worldly attractions that made me a conceited person, so much so that I felt satisfied with them; they destroyed me. I complain before you against friends of worldly desires who promised me great favors, but then denounced and betrayed me. I complain before you against my children whom I protected and gave preference over my own self, who consumed my properties but abandoned me. I complain before you against the properties from which I did not pay Allah’s dues and the responsibility for which was left upon me, but its profits went to the others. I complain before you against the house on which I spent all of my earnings, but it became a dwelling of the others. I complain before you against my long stay in my grave from which I hear, “I am a dwelling full of worms, a dwelling which is very dark, frightening and very congested.” O brethren, hold me back as long as you can and avoid facing what I have faced. I have been given the news of my suffering, the heat of fire that burns me, the humiliation and lowliness, and the anger of the Most Majestic, the Almighty Lord. How great is the loss of being careless and unconcerned about Allah and His chosen people! How lengthy is the time of crying and moaning! I have no one whose intercession for me is accepted. I have no friend who may feel pity about me. I wish I had a chance to become one of the believing people.’”

When `Isa b. Maryam (as) was born, he was one day old, but it was as though he was two months old. When he was seven months old, his mother took him by the hand to the scribes and sat him in front of the teacher. So, the teacher said: Say: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. So, `Isa (as) said: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. So, the teacher said: Say the alphabet. So, `Isa (as) raised his head and said: Do you know what the alphabet is? So, he took a stick to discipline him, so he said: O teacher! Do not discipline me. If you do not know, then ask me so that I may explain it to you. He said: Explain it to me. So `Isa (as) said: “A” is the signs (alaa’) of Allah, “B” is the delight (bahja) of Allah, “J” is the beauty (jamal) of Allah, and “D” is the religion (din) of Allah. “H” is the horror (hawl) of Hell, “W” is the woe (wayl) of the people of the Fire, and “Z” is the roar (zafir) of Hellfire. “Ḥ” is the falling (hattat) of sins from those who repent. “K” is the words (kalam) of Allah, for which there is no substitute. “Sa`fas” is a measure (sa`) for a measure, and a reward for a reward. “Qarshat” means that He gathers them (qarashahum) and resurrects them. So, the teacher said: O woman! Take your son by the hand, for he is learned, and he has no need for a teacher.

“Fatima (sa) and I went to see God’s Prophet (sw) and saw that the Prophet (sw) was crying hard. I said, ‘May my father and mother be your ransom! Why are you crying so hard?’ The Prophet (sw) said, ‘O Ali! On the night I was taken for Ascension to the heavens, I saw women from my nation who were being seriously tortured. That was really hard on me. Now I am crying due to the severity of their punishment which I saw with my own eyes then.
There was a woman in Hell hung up by her hair. Her brain was boiling. I saw another woman who was hung up by her tongue and fire was being poured into her throat. I saw another woman who was hung up by her breasts. I saw another one who was eating her own flesh, while there was blazing fire beneath her. I saw another woman whose hands and feet were in chains and snakes and scorpions were all over her. I saw another woman who was deaf, dumb and blind. She was in a coffin filled with fire and her brain was flowing out of her nose. All her body was torn into pieces due to leprosy. I saw another woman hung up by her feet in a fire furnace. I saw another woman whose flesh was being cut from the front and the back by scissors made of fire. I saw another woman whose face and hands were on fire while she was eating her own intestines. I saw another woman whose head was like the head of a pig and her body was like the body of a donkey. She was being punished by receiving thousands of forms of torture. I saw another woman who looked like a dog. Fire entered her from the back and left her mouth. The angels were beating her on the head and the body with fire clubs.’
(The Blessed Lady) Fatima (sa) asked, ‘O my beloved! O the sight of my eyes! Tell me, what had they done and what were their characteristics for which they deserved such punishments?’ The Prophet (sw) said, ‘The woman who was hung up by the hair was one who did not cover up her hair from unfamiliar men. The woman hung up by the tongue was one who used to hurt her husband’s (feelings) with her tongue. The woman hung up by her breasts was a married woman who refused to sleep with her husband. The woman hung up in Hell by her feet was one who left the house without her husband’s permission. The woman who ate her own flesh was one who made herself up for unfamiliar men. The woman whose hands and feet were chained up, and snakes and scorpions covered her up was a woman who did not perform her ablutions properly, did not clean the impurities from her clothes, did not perform the major ritual ablutions after intercourse and menstruation. She did not purify herself and did not pay any attention to her prayers. The woman who was deaf, dumb and blind was a woman who got pregnant by a man other than her husband, and associated the child with her own husband. The woman whose flesh was being cut by scissors made of fire was a woman who submitted herself to unfamiliar men. The woman whose face and head was covered by fire and was eating her own intestines was a female pimp. The woman whose head was like that of a pig and whose body was like that of a donkey was one who spread false rumors. The woman whose face was like that of a dog and fire entered her from the back and left her mouth was a jealous singer.” The Prophet (sw) then said, “Woe be to a woman who makes her husband angry! Blessed be a woman who pleases her husband.”
