"When a man dies, his sword, his Qur'an, his ring, his books, his saddle, and his clothing belong to his eldest child. If the eldest is a daughter, then they belong to the eldest of the sons."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If you do not know whether you have performed five Rak‘at or four, perform two Sajdah (prostration) because of mistake after Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) in a sitting position and thereafter say Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace).”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘You must not go near Salah (prayer) while you are drunk.’ (4:46) He (the Imam) said, ‘It is a reference to sleep.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who dies and about what is for him from his legacy. He (the Imam) said, ‘One third of his legacy is for him and this applies to a woman also.’”

“About the case of the assets of orphans, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who uses the assets of the orphan in business is responsible and the profit belongs to the orphan, if the worker does not have anything of his own assets in it.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘This person is responsible to pay for any damage caused.’”

“About the case of a man who says to another man, ‘Sell my cloth for ten dirham, if you sold for more, then the extra is for you.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”

“I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), say, ‘Moses, son of ‘Imran, passed by the wide road in al- Rawha’ (a place between al-Madinah and Makkah), along with seventy prophets dressed with gowns made in al-Qatwan, near al-Kufa, Iraq, saying, “Here I am to obey Your command O Lord, Your servant, son of Your servant.’””

No, she does not deserve it.’”

“He (the Imam) has said, ‘When you suffer from an illness and experience orgasm, it may take place with excitement, but if it takes place in a weak manner with less force because of your illness, in intervals little by little, in such case Ghusl (bath) is obligatory.’”

Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said to Humran b. A’yan in regards a matter he had asked him about: the people are destroyed because they do not ask questions.

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about a man’s performing Salah (prayer) with his face veiled. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not permissible while on the ground; however, while riding on a stumper is not an offense.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘If one after experiencing sexual relation likes to eat or drink, one must wash one’s hand, rinse one’s mouth, wash one’s face, then eat and drink.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘The most knowledgeable among people is the one who agrees with the decisions of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy.’”

“We once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about a man who doubts very often and does not know how many Rak‘at he has performed and how many Rak‘at remain. He (the Imam) said, ‘He performs again.’ We then asked, ‘It becomes a great many on him, because every time he performs again he doubts.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He continues with his doubts.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘You must not allow the filth to mix with your souls by discontinuing your Salah (prayer) to feed him. Satan, the filthy gets used to whatever habit he is allowed. One of you may continue with his guess and do not discontinue Salah (prayer) very often. If one does so several times, doubt does not return to him.’ Zurarah has said that he (the Imam) then said, ‘The filthy wants to be obeyed. If he is disobeyed, he does not come back to anyone of you.’”

Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited eating fresh (raw) meat and said that beasts eat fresh meat, thus it must be used for food only after it is changed by sun or fire.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin would say, ‘One who recites when performing Salah (prayer) behind an Imam whom he follows and dies, he has died in a religion other than Fitrah (Islam).”’

“Abu ‘Abd Allah or abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘Allah sends help from Heaven equal to the amount of expenditure. When one is certain about (Allah’s) replacing what is spent, his soul allows him to spend generously.”

“I once said to him (the Imam) (a.s.), that there is one who has died after sexual relation but before Ghusl (bath). How is Ghusl (bath) prescribed for him and how much water is needed? He (the Imam) said, ’Only one Ghusl (bath) is sufficient for both reasons, each of which is inviolable requiring one inviolable act (Ghusl (bath)).’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The entire forehead, from the hairline to the eyebrows is for Sajdah (prostration). Whatever of this area falls on the ground of the size of a dirham or of the size of a finger’s tip is sufficient.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not forget’ - or that he said ‘you must not forget appealing before Allah after every obligatory Salah (prayer) about the two essential matters.’ I then asked, ‘What are the two essential matters?’ The Imam replied, ‘Appealing before Allah for paradise and seeking refuge with Allah against the fire.”’
