جعفر بن محمد بن الليث: الكوفي: روى عن أبي إسحاق إبراهيم بن عبد الخصاف، وروى عنه أبو القاسم يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى. ذكره النجاشي في ترجمة محمد بن الحسن بن أبي سارة، وأكثر نسخ النجاشي خالية عن توثيق الرجل، إلا أن المولى عناية الله نسب إلى النجاشي توثيقه، ولعله كان موجودا في نسخته.
