Hadith.1599 - Zurara and Bukayr reported from Abu Ja’far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) who said
"There is no Zakat on gemstones and similar items, even if they are abundant."
1599 - وَ رَوَى زُرَارَةُ وَ بُكَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
«لَيْسَ فِي اَلْجَوْهَرِ وَ أَشْبَاهِهِ زَكَاةٌ وَ إِنْ كَثُرَ.

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from Jamil ibn Salih from Bukayr ibn ’A‘yan who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about a man who sends his Zakat but it is stolen or destroyed. He (the Imam) said, ‘He does not owe anything.’”
5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَبْعَثُ بِزَكَاتِهِ فَتُسْرَقُ أَوْ تَضِيعُ قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ.

3. [3/381] al-Tawhid: Ibn al-Walid from al-Saffar from Ibn Hashim and Ibn Yazid from Ibn Fadhal from Ibn Bukayr from Zurara from Abi Abdillah عليه السلام about the words of Allah Mighty and Majestic: “The Fitra of Allah which He created the people upon” (30:30). He said
He created them upon Tawhid.

hadith 248
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from a man who has said the following: “This is about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, ‘If you pay charity in public, it still is fine. . (2:270) Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, It is about obligatory zakat.’ I (the narrator) then mentioned Allah’s words that say, ‘If they hide it and give to the poor. . . .’ (2:270) The Imam said, ‘
This is about optional charity. They liked to pay obligatory zakat publicly and the optional zakat out of public sight.’”
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنْ تُبْدُوا الصَّدَقاتِ فَنِعِمَّا هِيَ قَالَ
يَعْنِي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ تُخْفُوها وَتُؤْتُوهَا الْفُقَراءَ قَالَ يَعْنِي النَّافِلَةَ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَسْتَحِبُّونَ إِظْهَارَ الْفَرَائِضِ وَكِتْمَانَ النَّوَافِلِ.

9. [9/-] Ilal al-Sharai: My father from Sa’d from Muhammad b. Isa from al-Hasan b. Fadhal from Ibn Bukayr from Zurara who said
I asked Aba Ja’far عليه السلام about the words of Allah Mighty and Majestic: “When your Lord took from the Children of Adam from their backs their descendants and made them bear witness against their own selves - am I not your Lord? They said: Indeed” (7:172). He said: The Ma’rifa (Recognition) was confirmed but they forgot the time (when this episode occurred) and they will come to remember it one day. If it were not for that no one would know who his Creator is nor who his Sustainer is.

سألت أبا جعفر عليه السلام عن قول الله عزوجل: وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى قال: ثبتت المعرفة ونسوا الوقت وسيذكرونه يوما، ولولا ذلك لم يدر أحد من خالقه ولا من رازقه

10-48 (The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar quoted Muhammad ibn Ahmad, on the authority of Ibrahim ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Barqy, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, on the authority of Ibn Bakir, on the authority of Zurarah, on the authority of Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (MGB) that God’s Prophet (MGB) said, “
Islam is founded upon ten pillars as follows: bearing witness that ‘There is no god but God’ - that is the basis of a Muslim’s nationality; prayer which is an obligatory deed; fasting which is a shield against the fire; payment of the alms-tax which purifies one’s possessions; going on the Hajj pilgrimage which is a decree; participating in holy war which is an honor; enjoining to do good deeds which is persistence in belief; admonishing against the bad deeds which is giving an ultimatum; attending congregational prayers which results in mutual sympathy; and avoiding sins which is the basis of obedience.”
10-48 حدثنا أبي رضي الله عنه قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، عن محمد بن أحمد، عن إبراهيم بن إسحاق، عن محمد بن خالد البرقي، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن ابن بكير، عن زرارة قال
قال أبوجعفر عليه السلام: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: بني الاسلام على عشرة أسهم: على شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وهي الملة، والصلاة وهي الفريضة، والصوم وهو الجنة، والزكاة وهي الطهر، والحج وهي الشريعة، والجهاد وهو الغزو، والامر بالمعروف وهوالوفاء، والنهي، عن المنكر وهو الحجة، والجماعة وهي الالفة، والعصمة وهي الطاعة

hadith 2134
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Faddal, from Marwan ibn Muslim from ibn Bukayr from ’Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who wants to pay Zakat of his asset which is one thousand dirham but cannot find a deserving beneficiary. He then sees a slave for sale, buys him with those thousand dirhams, and sets him free. Was his act permissible? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is permissible and it is not harmful.’ I then said that when the slave is free he works in business and earns a great wealth; then he dies without anyone to inherit legally his legacy. Who will inherit his legacy? He (the Imam) said, ‘The poor believers who are deserving beneficiaries of Zakat inherit him, because he was bought with their asset.’”
3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَخْرَجَ زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ مَوْضِعاً يَدْفَعُ ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى مَمْلُوكٍ يُبَاعُ فِيمَنْ يُرِيدُهُ فَاشْتَرَاهُ بِتِلْكَ الألْفِ الدِّرْهَمِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ زَكَاتِهِ فَأَعْتَقَهُ هَلْ يَجُوزُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ لاَ بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّهُ لَمَّا أَنْ أُعْتِقَ وَصَارَ حُرّاً اتَّجَرَ وَاحْتَرَفَ وَأَصَابَ مَالاً ثُمَّ مَاتَ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ وَارِثٌ فَمَنْ يَرِثُهُ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَارِثٌ قَالَ يَرِثُهُ الْفُقَرَاءُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِقُّونَ الزَّكَاةَ لأَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا اشْتُرِيَ بِمَالِهِمْ.
