“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not drink the milk of camels that feed on human feces; and if their perspiration comes in contact with you, wash it clean.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not proper to perform Salah (prayer) with clothes that have come in contact with the urine of cat.’”

it is in the book of Sama‘ah who in a marfu‘ manner has narrated the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If clothes come in contact with the urine of cats, performing Salah (prayer) with such clothes is not valid until they are washed.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, “If a chicken feeds on human feces, it cannot be used for food until it is quarantined for three days. ‘If it is a duck, quarantine time is five days, for a sheep for ten days, for a cow twenty days and for a camel it is forty days.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ’Amir al-Mu’minin would ride the mule of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. He (the Imam) then would pass by the fish market and say, ‘You must not use for food and must not sell whatever does not have scales.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ’Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali Ibn Abu Talib in al-Kufah would ride the mule of the Messenger of Allah (saww) then pass by the fish market and say, ‘Do not use for food and do not sell of fish whatever has no scales.’”

“I once visited abu Ibrahim (a.s.), and he had an ivory comb in his hand which he used. I said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, in Iraq there are people with us who think that using ivory comb is not permissible.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘For what reason it can be as you said it is, my father had one or two ivory combs.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘You must use ivory comb; it removes al-Waba’ (fever).”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about edible birds and beasts (animals). He (the Imam) said, The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited using for food of every bird that has claws and beast that has canine teeth.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘O Sama‘ah, all beasts are inedible; even if it is a beast that does not have canine teeth. The Messenger of Allah has mentioned canine teeth for explanation. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and His Messenger prohibited all metamorphosed animals. From the birds on land you can use for food that which has craw, and from the sea birds that which has gizzard like the gizzard of pigeons; not stomach like the stomach of human beings. Every bird which flies straight and has claws is not edible, and so also are the straight fliers like falcons and hawks and al- Hida’ah (a bird that hunts rats) and similar birds that flap their wings in flight and have craws or gizzard which defines every edible bird that cannot be distinguished from its flight and the unknown ones.’”
