“I asked my brother, Musa ibn Ja‘far (a.s.), about a man whose hand is cut off from the elbow. How he should take Wudu’? He (the Imam) said, ‘He must wash what is left of his arm.’”

Hadith.122 - Ali ibn Ja'far asked his brother Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as) bout a man who uses his hand to clean his teeth when he gets up for the night prayer (Salat Al Layl), even though he has access to siwak. Imam (as) said: "If he fears that dawn is approaching, there is no harm in doing so."

Hadith.6 - Ali ibn Ja'far asked his brother, Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as) about a roof where people urinate and perform ritual washing after major impurity (ghusl), and then it rains. He asked: "Can the water that flows from it be used for ablution (wudu) for prayer?" Imam (as) said: "If it flows, there is no harm in it."

“I once asked him (the Imam), ‘Does the medicine that one may keep inside his body during Salah (prayer), invalidate his Wudu’?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It does not invalidate his Wudu’ but he must not perform Salah (prayer) before taking it away.’”

Hadith.27 - Ali ibn Ja'far asked his brother Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as) about a man in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) : Would it suffice for him to stand in the rain until his head and body are washed, if he also has access to other water? Imam (as) said: "If the rain washes him completely as it would with water for ghusl, then that suffices."

Hadith.29 - Ali ibn Ja'far asked his brother Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as) about a man who slaughtered a sheep, which then convulsed and fell into a well while its veins were still bleeding. He asked if one could perform ablution from that well. Imam (as) said: "Between thirty and forty buckets should be drawn from it, and then it may be used for ablution."

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about a man who performs Tawaf around the House when he is involved in sexual relation (because of which Ghusl (bath) is obligatory), but remembers when he is in Tawaf. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must discontinue his Tawaf and you must not consider it valid.’ I then asked him (the Imam) about a man who performs Tawaf and then remembers that he is without wudu’. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must discontinue and it (Tawaf) is not acceptable.’”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the case of one who had a nosebleed; then he blew his nose and parts of it became small segments which came in contact with his water container. Can he take Wudu’ with such water? He (the Imam) said, ’If nothing is visible in the water container it is not harmful. However, if things show in it he must not use it for Wudu’. I (the narrator) then asked him (the Imam) about a man who has nosebleed while taking Wudu’ and a drop falls in his water container. Can he take Wudu with such water? He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he cannot take Wudu’ with such water.’”
