hadith 832
Hadith.832 - Al-Mu'alla ibn Khunays asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about praying on qufr (bare ground or desert soil) and qīr (a type of tar or pitch). Imam (as) said: "There is no issue with it”.
832 - وَ سَأَلَ اَلْمُعَلَّى بْنُ خُنَيْسٍ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: عَنِ اَلصَّلاَةِ عَلَى اَلْقُفْرِ وَ اَلْقِيرِ فَقَالَ
«لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ.

5. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Mu‘alla’ abu ‘Uthman from Mu‘alla’ ibn Khunayth who has said the following
“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), while bowing down for Sajdah (prostration) would say Takbir (Allah is great beyond description).”’ (Ahadith 4-5 are best be explained by fatwa.)
5ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُعَلًّى أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِما الْسَّلام) إِذَا هَوَى سَاجِداً انْكَبَّ وَهُوَ يُكَبِّرُ.

My father and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Walid (RA) both said: Sa`d ibn `Abd Allah said, on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn `Isa, on the authority of `Ali ibn `Abd Allah, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abu `Umayr, on the authority of Abu al-Hasan al-Hadhdha’, on the authority of al-Mu`alla ibn Khunays
I asked Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS): “What is the meaning of the word of the Mighty and High: And, verily, they were called upon to make obeisance while yet they were safe.” He replied, “They had the ability.”
17 - حدثتا أبي، ومحمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد رحمهما الله، قالا: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن علي بن عبد الله، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن أبي الحسن الحذاء، عن المعلى بن خنيس، قال
قلت لأبي عبد الله عليه السلام: ما يعني بقوله عز وجل: (وقد كانوا يدعون إلى السجود وهم سالمون)؟ قال: و هم مستطيعون.
