hadith 429

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“I once asked abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) about a fasting man who brushes his teeth with water. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.‘ He added: ‘One must not brush with a wet twig.’”

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الصَّائِمِ يَسْتَاكُ بِالْمَاءِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِهِ وَقَالَ لا يَسْتَاكُ بِسِوَاكٍ رَطْبٍ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is undesirable for a fasting person to use a fresh twig as tooth brush; however, it is not harmful to make one’s brush wet with water, then discharge out of one’s mouth so that nothing is left.’”

3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ لِلصَّائِمِ أَنْ يَسْتَاكَ بِسِوَاكٍ رَطْبٍ وَقَالَ

لا يَضُرُّ أَنْ يَبُلَّ سِوَاكَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَنْفُضَهُ حَتَّى لا يَبْقَى فِيهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who chews chewing gum when fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he cannot do so.’”

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

قُلْتُ الصَّائِمُ يَمْضَغُ الْعِلْكَ قَالَ لا.

hadith 439

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a fasting woman who tastes to examine the salt of a cooking pot. He (the Imam) said, ‘

It is not harmful.’” He (the narrator) has said that he asked him (the Imam) about a fasting woman who has a child and she chews the bread to feed him. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful. So also is the case of a bird that belongs to her.’”

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ الصَّائِمَةِ تَطْبُخُ الْقِدْرَ فَتَذُوقُ الْمَرَقَةَ تَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ

لا بَأْسَ قَالَ وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ يَكُونُ لَهَا الصَّبِيُّ وَهِيَ صَائِمَةٌ فَتَمْضَغُ الْخُبْزَ وَتُطْعِمُهُ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ وَالطَّيْرَ إِنْ كَانَ لَهَا.

hadith 443

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘ Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not harmful if a fasting person swallows his mucus.”’

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ غِيَاثِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

لا بَأْسَ بِأَنْ يَزْدَرِدَ الصَّائِمُ نُخَامَتَهُ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad from Hariz who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a fasting person is afraid about the illness of his eyes, he is allowed to eat.’”

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

الصَّائِمُ إِذَا خَافَ عَلَى عَيْنَيْهِ مِنَ الرَّمَدِ أَفْطَرَ.

hadith 463

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following

“I once asked one of the two Imam, abu Ja‘far, or abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a patient who does not fast until the next month of Ramadan. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he became well but due to laziness did not fast before the next month of Ramadan, he must fast that (month of Ramadan) in which he is and pay a ransom of one mud of food to a destitute person and make Qada’ (compensatory fast) for what is missed. If he remains ill until the next month of Ramadan, he fasts during that which he can fast and pays a ransom of one mud of food to a destitute for what he has missed before. He is not obligated for any Qada’ (compensatory fasting) for what he has missed because of illness.”’

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَأَبِي عَبْدِ الله صَلَوَاتُ الله عَلَيْهِمَا قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُمَا عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَرِضَ فَلَمْ يَصُمْ حَتَّى أَدْرَكَهُ رَمَضَانٌ آخَرُ فَقَالا إِنْ كَانَ بَرَأَ ثُمَّ تَوَانَى قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْرِكَهُ رَمَضَانُ الآخَرِ صَامَ الَّذِي أَدْرَكَهُ وَتَصَدَّقَ عَنْ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ بِمُدٍّ مِنْ طَعَامٍ عَلَى مِسْكِينٍ وَعَلَيْهِ قَضَاؤُهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَمْ يَزَلْ مَرِيضاً حَتَّى أَدْرَكَهُ رَمَضَانٌ آخَرُ صَامَ الَّذِي أَدْرَكَهُ وَتَصَدَّقَ عَنِ الأَوَّلِ لِكُلِّ يَوْمٍ مُدّاً عَلَى مِسْكِينٍ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاؤُهُ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith: ‘If one owes fasting of the month of Ramadan, he can make its Qada’ (compensatory fast) in any month that he likes but in a continued order. If he is not able to do so, he then is required to complete its Qada’ (compensatory fast) in a way he can complete. He must keep the number of days clear and without confusion. Fasting in different times is valid as well as in continued order.’”

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنْ صَوْمِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَلْيَقْضِهِ فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ شَاءَ أَيَّاماً مُتَتَابِعَةً فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَلْيَقْضِهِ كَيْفَ شَاءَ وَلْيُمَحِّصِ الأَيَّامَ فَإِنْ فَرَّقَ فَحَسَنٌ وَإِنْ تَابَعَ فَحَسَنٌ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one has missed fasting of the month of Ramadan, for good reasons, it is better to make its Qada’ (compensatory fast) in continued order; but in different times is also valid and it is not harmful.’”

3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

مَنْ أَفْطَرَ شَيْئاً مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي عُذْرٍ فَإِنْ قَضَاهُ مُتَتَابِعاً أَفْضَلُ وَإِنْ قَضَاهُ مُتَفَرِّقاً فَحَسَنٌ لا بَأْسَ.

hadith 472

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who with the intention to fast wakes up in the morning, then for a certain reason decides not to fast. He (the Imam) said, ‘Until midday it is his choice to fast or not to fast.’ I then asked, ‘Is he required to make Qada’ (compensatory fast) for such fast if he discontinues it?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is a valid deed that he intended to do and he should complete it.’ I then asked, ‘Can a man who, when the day is up, decide to fast, do so?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is permissible for him to do so.’”

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصْبِحُ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ ثُمَّ يَبْدُو لَهُ فَيُفْطِرُ قَالَ هُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ قُلْتُ هَلْ يَقْضِيهِ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ قَالَ نَعَمْ لأَنَّهَا حَسَنَةٌ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَعْمَلَهَا فَلْيُتِمَّهَا قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ رَجُلاً أَرَادَ أَنْ يَصُومَ ارْتِفَاعَ النَّهَارِ أَ يَصُومُ قَالَ نَعَمْ.

hadith 487

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father [from ibn abu ‘ Umayr] from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘We command our children, when they are seven years old, to fast as long as they can. In midday or more if thirst increases, they stop fasting so they develop endurance. You should command your children to fast, when they are nine years old, for as long as they can fast. When thirst increases they can stop fasting.’”

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

إِنَّا نَأْمُرُ صِبْيَانَنَا بِالصِّيَامِ إِذَا كَانُوا بَنِي سَبْعِ سِنِينَ بِمَا أَطَاقُوا مِنْ صِيَامِ الْيَوْمِ فَإِنْ كَانَ إِلَى نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ وَأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَوْ أَقَلَّ فَإِذَا غَلَبَهُمُ الْعَطَشُ وَالْغَرَثُ أَفْطَرُوا حَتَّى يَتَعَوَّدُوا الصَّوْمَ وَيُطِيقُوهُ فَمُرُوا صِبْيَانَكُمْ إِذَا كَانُوا أَبْنَاءَ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ بِمَا أَطَاقُوا مِنْ صِيَامٍ فَإِذَا غَلَبَهُمُ الْعَطَشُ أَفْطَرُوا.

hadith 490

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When a boy is able to fast for three days continuously it is obligatory on him to fast in the month of Ramadan.’”

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

إِذَا أَطَاقَ الْغُلامُ صِيَامَ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مُتَتَابِعَةٍ فَقَدْ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ صِيَامُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of one who becomes a Muslim in the middle of the month of Ramadan, if he owes any fast. He (the Imam) said, ‘

There is no fast upon him except that (day) in which he has become a Muslim.”’

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَسْلَمَ فِي النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ قَالَ

لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ إِلاَّ مَا أَسْلَمَ فِيهِ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who when the month of Ramadan arrives is at home and does not want to travel; then it occurs to him, when it is the month of Ramadan, to travel. He (the Imam) remained quiet and I asked several times then he (the Imam) said, ‘Staying home is better unless he has a certain need for which it is necessary for him to travel or is afraid for his assets.’”

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَدْخُلُ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ وَهُوَ مُقِيمٌ لا يُرِيدُ بَرَاحاً ثُمَّ يَبْدُو لَهُ بَعْدَ مَا يَدْخُلُ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ أَنْ يُسَافِرَ فَسَكَتَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ فَقَالَ يُقِيمُ أَفْضَلُ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ لا بُدَّ مِنَ الْخُرُوجِ فِيهَا أَوْ يَتَخَوَّفَ عَلَى مَالِهِ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who fasts on journey. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he is informed that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited fasting on a journey, he is required to complete its Qada’ (compensatory fast) but if such information has not reached him, he is not obligated for anything/”

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

قُلْتُ لَهُ رَجُلٌ صَامَ فِي السَّفَرِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) نَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَعَلَيْهِ الْقَضَاءُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَلَغَهُ فَلا شَيْ‏ءَ عَلَيْهِ.

hadith 518

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who comes out of his house to travel and he is fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘

If he has come out before midday he is required to stop fasting and complete its Qada’ (compensatory fast) but if he has come out after Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime), he is required to complete his fast (of that day).”’

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ يُرِيدُ السَّفَرَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ قَالَ

فَقَالَ إِنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَنْتَصِفَ النَّهَارُ فَلْيُفْطِرْ وَلْيَقْضِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ وَإِنْ خَرَجَ بَعْدَ الزَّوَالِ فَلْيُتِمَّ يَوْمَهُ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from ‘Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who travels in the month of Ramadan, if he is required to fast or stop fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘

If he goes out before Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime), he stops fasting; and if he goes out after Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime), then he fasts.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘This comes from the words of Ali (a.s.), that say, “I fast and stop fasting until it is Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime), thereafter it is definitely obligatory on me, meaning thereby fasting.’””

3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) فِي الرَّجُلِ يُسَافِرُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ يَصُومُ أَوْ يُفْطِرُ قَالَ

إِنْ خَرَجَ قَبْلَ الزَّوَالِ فَلْيُفْطِرْ وَإِنْ خَرَجَ بَعْدَ الزَّوَالِ فَلْيَصُمْ وَقَالَ يُعْرَفُ ذَلِكَ بِقَوْلِ عَلِيٍّ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) أَصُومُ وَأُفْطِرُ حَتَّى إِذَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ عُزِمَ عَلَيَّ يَعْنِي الصِّيَامَ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who gets up in the morning fasting but when the day rises or in the evening experiences Hayd (menses), if she can stop fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, even if it is al-Maghrib (sunset), she can stop fasting.’ I then asked him (the Imam) about the case of a woman who becomes clean of Hayd (menses) in the morning of the month of Ramadan and she takes Ghusl (bath); but does not eat what should she do?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘She stops fasting that day; bleeding has invalidated her fast.’”

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ أَصْبَحَتْ صَائِمَةً فَلَمَّا ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ أَوْ كَانَ الْعَشِيُّ حَاضَتْ أَ تُفْطِرُ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ وَقْتُ الْمَغْرِبِ فَلْتُفْطِرْ قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ رَأَتِ الطُّهْرَ فِي أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَتَغْتَسِلُ وَلَمْ تَطْعَمْ فَمَا تَصْنَعُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ قَالَ تُفْطِرُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ فَإِنَّمَا فِطْرُهَا مِنَ الدَّمِ.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about slaughtering with (sharp) piece of wood, reeds and stone. He (the Imam) said that Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.), has said, ‘Without iron slaughtering is not proper.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الذَّبِيحَةِ بِالْعُودِ وَ الْحَجَرِ وَ الْقَصَبَةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ( عليه السلام ) لَا يَصْلُحُ الذَّبْحُ إِلَّا بِالْحَدِيدَةِ .

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from abu Hashim al-Ja’fariy from his father from Humran ibn ’ A‘yan who has said the following

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When you slaughter an animal, do not tie down all the legs, do not push the knife under the throat and veins then turn it to cut upward. You must allow the bird to remain loose especially, but if it falls in a well or a hole, then do not use it for food or feed; you do not know if the fall has killed it or slaughtering. If it is a sheep, then hold it by its fur or wool and do not hold its legs. In the case of cows tie down the front legs and leave the tail. In the case of camels tie down its hoofs to its armpit and leave its legs. If a bird turns loose when you want to slaughter it and escapes and flies away, you can shoot it down with your arrow, if it falls down it then is like hunting.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الذَّبْحِ فَقَالَ إِذَا ذَبَحْتَ فَأَرْسِلْ وَ لَا تَكْتِفْ وَ لَا تَقْلِبِ السِّكِّينَ لِتُدْخِلَهَا مِنْ تَحْتِ الْحُلْقُومِ وَ تَقْطَعَهُ إِلَى فَوْقُ وَ الْإِرْسَالُ لِلطَّيْرِ خَاصَّةً فَإِنْ تَرَدَّى فِي جُبٍّ أَوْ وَهْدَةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَلَا تَأْكُلْهُ وَ لَا تُطْعِمْهُ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي التَّرَدِّي قَتَلَهُ أَوِ الذَّبْحُوَ إِنْ كَانَ شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنَ الْغَنَمِ فَأَمْسِكْ صُوفَهُ أَوْ شَعْرَهُ وَ لَا تُمْسِكَنَّ يَداً وَ لَا رِجْلًا وَ أَمَّا الْبَقَرُ فَاعْقِلْهَا وَ أَطْلِقِ الذَّنَبَ وَ أَمَّا الْبَعِيرُ فَشُدَّ أَخْفَافَهُ إِلَى آبَاطِهِ وَ أَطْلِقْ رِجْلَيْهِ وَ إِنْ أَفْلَتَكَ شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ وَ أَنْتَ تُرِيدُ ذَبْحَهُ أَوْ نَدَّ عَلَيْكَ فَارْمِهِ بِسَهْمِكَ فَإِذَا هُوَ سَقَطَ فَذَكِّهِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الصَّيْدِ .
